Bill Essayli, Trump's man in L.A., talks a lot about fraud.
Something he doesn't talk about: his family's federal fraud case, and how he defended it against the office he now runs.
Our reporter Matt Hamilton uncovered the case and went deep on a major Trump player. lamaterial.com/p/bill-essay...

Did you see the viral video of a woman being handcuffed by ICE agents at SFO Sunday night?
They knew where to find her because TSA officials tipped them off under a new Trump administration program.

MSM news reports rarely state that a public figure "lied" bc that is the word for a situation in which a speaker says something false with intent to deceive (vs being mistaken, deluded, etc). Subjective interior state of mind is tricky to impute from outside. I understand why this is irritating.
RIP John Burns, perhaps the last of a generation of swashbuckling, straight-from-central-casting war correspondents who ran to the sound of the guns and filed exquisite copy at the end of the day. A spendid tribute by @cowellcnd.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/2026/03/13/w...
Employees at Camp East Montana are being told that the massive detention Center in El Paso is not closing, internal messages obtained by the El Paso Times show.
My story:
In a secret deportation arrangement, the Trump administration flew nine people, nearly all of whom had been granted U.S. court protections from being sent back to their home countries, to the African nation of Cameroon in January.
Among those now in the Yaoundé compound are people who said they escaped imprisonment for their political beliefs, survived wars and fled countries where their sexual orientations are criminalized.
Most of those migrants and their lawyers say they have been detained since then at a state-owned compound.
They say they’ve been told by local authorities that they cannot leave the facility unless they agree to return to their home countries, from which they fled to escape war or persecution.
