LOVE that entire trilogy. Some of the best books about being a sister I’ve ever read.

I don’t think so! The annuals do pop up in charity shops and second hand bookshops sometimes….

The “spooky” stories in girls’ annuals and comics in the 70s and 80s are the most bleak, fucked up shit you’ll ever read. Someone will be slightly rude to their old aunt and then get trapped in a paperweight for eternity or turned into a monster or put on a train that’s clearly going to hell

And the evil faces on the gnomeified family at the end! I couldn’t sleep when I first read it because I kept thinking about it.

And I couldn’t relax until the bin men had taken away that bin!

I am not joking when I say this story traumatised me for life.

First year selling my art at Christmas without the Other site, where most of my sales came from, as well as losing US orders to new tariffs, so it'll be a tough one - I put huge work into every order, so even if you can't buy, shares help get them in front of eyes. Me, My Film, and My Massive Brain Tumor David Freyne directed and co-wrote a film about death. Then, he learned he had a brain tumor the size of an apple.

So apart from being very talented my brother David is very brave. While his film Eternity was being wrapped up he had a very serious diagnosis and he has written about it here time.com/7339094/eter...

I never heard the phrase until I was well into adulthood and have always found it baffling! Also baffled by idea it’s rude to announce you’re leaving. Maybe it is an Irish thing but when people leave without a word I generally wish I’d got to say goodbye to them.

It's important to give conservative politicians their dues when they're on the right side of an issue like this, because we want elections to be fought over housing policy and taxes and stuff, not demonising minorities.

Make politics boring again!

Amazing letter in today’s @thetimes.com about Tom Stoppard

It’s so stupid because even if we had the weather for a piazza (we don’t), the reason squares work in continental cities is because as well as being warmer, they’re lined with restaurants and bars where people can sit and socalise. Not (checks) a university, a bank and a Spar.

In future I will insist that all family photos take place in front of film premiere backdrops

Same! I’m pretty sure there’s still one of these badges in my parents’ house.

I’ve written another romcom! It’s about two scriptwriters who can’t stop arguing but have to work together to save a TV show. Also there is kissing. I loved writing it and you can pre-order it here! linktr.ee/LoveSceneAnn...

Thank you for reminding people of this, I feel like I’ve lost my mind when I see people I respect praising him for his recent activism. There are amazing people on the flotilla who deserve praise but he has spewed the most appalling shit for ages now.

absolutely raging that philip sutcliffe represents my area and I’m so sickened by his horrible spoiled vote/fucking zodiac killer hate scrawl that I’ve made a complaint to the dcc ethics registrar. the info is at the link below and he’s in direct contravention of section 9.4 of the code of conduct
