Every time I see this photo I giggle at the thought that astronaut pulled the ultimate dad move and told the rest of his family that it was just a normal family portrait session and to wear regular clothes only to show up himself in a damn space suit.

Before I get a bunch of wise-asses in my mentions: yes I know all about the 24 hour coneys. I've lived here my entire life.
I will tomorrow, I promise!
More of the crew images after landing on the aircraft carrier found here if you want to download them.

See? You get it.
By the way, a single donut is indeed $2.00, but the price drops dramatically when you get a dozen. You get a dozen and they always throw in an extra for $18.00.
That is a very good price for these magnificent donuts.
Me standing outside of the brightly lit Dutch Girl Donuts in Detroit, the only 24 donut shop in the city, and one of the precious few places that are even open 24 hours at all. The shop is very old, and looks what could be called retro now, even though it is all original.
One 24 hour business remains in my beloved Detroit. The best donuts.
An older man was outside. I stepped out of my car, and he accosted me:
"TWO DOLLARS A FUCKING DONUT, MAN? THAT'S NUTS, BROTHER" and walked away empty handed.
It's 2:20am, sir. Enjoy the fact that this even exists. A small price.
It's such a weird lesson to learn but the earlier in life we learn it, the better. Took me too long to arrive at trusting my gut about people showing me who they were and believing them the first time.
a Walmart instagram ad for something called a “CROM 3” it’s a lady with a fuckin weird bucket on her head
you shouldn’t be able to just put this kind of thing on the timeline, man. I took a big edible earlier. I could have died

This is the first time in human history these words have ever been placed in this order together
I understand the kind of person you are. I've met many people like you on the internet. I see right through you. I know that deep down, you are actually a person who is loving, and you crave respect and kindness just like the rest of us.
I hope you find a path to the love you seek. Genuinely.
"I am sorry for your loss, but"
Imagine saying that to anyone.
Have a great day, I hope your children outlive you.
I'm glad you asked. Many of our spaces are designed to prioritize vehicles. Pedestrians are not a concern, particularly in American suburbs. I wrote about this:
Watch, the next trend in AI will be "Premium to remove AI", like you need to pay more money to get rid of AI features 😂
barf
Why not? My LG TV keeps trying to shove AI bullshit into my face
One tried to call the cops once and the local cops, who I knew because I was always there at night, were definitely on the side of the teens back then.
"Are they bothering anybody?" Hell no, they're just being kids. "Have a nice night".
And most nights I'd get one white customer who would try to find some way to complain about that and I always shot them down like "they're not doing a single thing wrong"
"well they should be at home this late at night"
I was like, 19 or 20 so much closer to my peers than some racist old ass
When I was a night manager at the 24 hour kinko's at the corner of Mack and Moross in the late 90s we had a bunch of Detroit teens that would come in at night, drink free coffee, hang out, make zines and cut up papers and do goofy shit, sometimes even (gasp!) so their homework!
I'm sorry but as a nerd who has been in tech since the 80s, "the atmosphere" is objectively way, way cooler than "the Internet" and it will be far more acceptable to normies than "the Internet" was in the 90s. They had whole television news specials explaining just the words to people back then.
When I was a teen I had a rotation of 24 hour diners, coneys, coffee shops... Hell even Meijer at 2am. There were places for us to go and hang out at night and in the evenings. We would ride bikes, play hackey sack. Kid shit. Now, society wants every kid to be parked inside after 6pm on a screen.
Exactly!
Holy fuck, I saw that a few years ago before it was all connected WHAT THE HELL lmaoooo
