working on a theory that the exact moment anything from SNL UK gets good is when you go "Well, this wouldn't be on SNL in America". in this case that moment is 1:16 youtube.com/shorts/rboHL...

Conservatives think the state should protect them from the traumatizing experience of encountering people unlike them. For some reason this never came up in the heyday of “snowflake,” “trigger warning” or “safe space” discourse bsky.app/profile/kiss...
I mean yeah but the cast and world of Part II are *so* much bigger, it really feels like that would be a very natural kind of way for the game to work. There's not just one tiny settlement, there's whole cities to thrive or die depending on how much stupid murder happens.
I have given this life advice to lots of people. There are two categories of problems: those that can be solved with some money and those that can't. It's important to realize the first category is much larger than the second. The world is less stressful if you financialize it as much as possible.

I honestly couldn't tell you a specific thing I learned in therapy. I've never had one of those "and I felt that" moments where my therapist gave me some profound revelation about a feeling I was having.
I can say that 5+ years of consistent sessions has improved all my relationships immeasurably.
"La Marseillaise" is still a banger tho so I'm on board
Always the same pattern: Trump makes some annoucement that seems like it's obviously bullshit, markets spike on the news. Soon after, it turns out that Trump was lying about the entire thing and markets fall, but still wind up at a higher level than they started at www.axios.com/2026/04/19/o...

The only thing that makes life possible is permanent, intolerable uncertainty: not knowing what comes next.

The human circulatory system, before and after proper cable management.
Maybe it’ll happen tonight while I’m hauling a futon mattress out of the house.
On a related note anybody want a futon?
“Feud with the Pope” is BACK as a likely Wikipedia section heading after a 400-year gap.
Foreign billionaires who bribed Trump should get North Korea tier sanctions on them.
Achievement unlocked: spoke without a script for an entire wedding ceremony without “um” or the like. There’s nothing wrong with them - they’re a normal part of speech - but it really is a great feeling, especially since I haven’t done much public speaking since the 2010s. I will take the win.
Ok that’s funny
I love how you can *feel* that stage of a child’s development where they really are almost identical to a clever dog, with very slightly better language and motor skills.
NASA and Mamdani are proving that Americans are desperate to see their money spent in ways they feel good about.
This, however, is not the same thing as simply spending the money on things we would feel good about but never know happened. People need to be able to see it.
This is Star Trek to me. This is why this show and its siblings are baked so deep in my soul. We can go to the stars and explore the galaxy and meet new people and that’s how we become even more human and the whole time we do human things like make music and joke with our loved ones.

Got it. I’ll get working on adding an adoption process to the onboarding flow.

Kindle app push notification Still thinking about this book? "The Traitor Baru Cormorant" by Seth Dickinson
Yes you might say I am “still interested” in the book I already purchased yesterday, in the app in which you are advertising it to me, in the ecosystem under which you have all my personal and purchase information, on the device in which you are currently notifying me
Officiated my fifth wedding, this time for one of my best friends. It’s the best gig I can think of: central and important and a lot of ways to be creative - and also completely irrelevant. You can’t fail. Just a lot of fun and a great honor.
