Spent 20 bucks just to walk in a field of tulips & it was worth every dollar. Show me every flower farm in Georgia, please! What’s next in season?

Treated myself to a visit to a bookshop, of course. Did not expect to spend three hours on the road today, ugh.

My good deed of the day: driving 1.5 hours one way to take this little guy to a rehab facility. Found it getting batted around by the outdoor cats. I hope it’ll recover well.

I'm sitting here thinking wow I really want to open up a used Book Store but whew...I have enough sense to not. Maybe in a few years? Gonna let all this *gestures all around* run its course? Or destroy the world? Omg, but it's good to have a dream right?

Day 010 of my #100DayProject where I work in my sketchbook for a little bit each day. Used India ink to draw a purdy bird today. These little bits of daily creativity have been so nice for my soul lately.

There’s a little part of me that feels bad for not feeling bad about closing my art studio. Like a tiny, tiny part. But y’all I had to save myself. I was on a sinking ship & every day I’m reminded I made the right choice.

Day 006 of the #100DayProject where I will play in my sketchbook for a little while every day. Today I met up with a friend at a coffeeshop where we yapped & worked in our sketchbooks. It's one of my favorite things to do!

Day 005 of the #100DayProject where I will play in my sketchbook for a little while every day. Here's a drawing of my cat Peanut judging me as she lounges in her cardboard throne. I have so many photos of her on my phone. So photogenic and so opinionated, that one.

Day 004 of the #100DayProject where I will play in my sketchbook for a little while every day. I have common themes in my sketchbooks: cute animals, bright colors, & flowers. I've saw a Japanese magnolia in full bloom in a nearby neighborhood & was inspired.

Day 003 of the #100DayProject- Today's spread is inspired by a photo of Lemmy, who I found as a kitten hiding under my car last summer. We took care of him for a few weeks then roadtripped to Orlando to his forever home. I was texted a recent photo of him. I used Tombow markers & a black brush pen.

Day 002 of the #100DayProject where I will play in my sketchbook for a little while every day. I created a Pinterest board of animals I'd like to draw. So far it's full of birds & cats! Here's a toucan for your viewing pleasure.

Day 001 of the #100DayProject: Today's sketchbook play was inspired by a silly photo of my cat Peanut taking a good nap. I think she saw the pic & that's why she decided to knock my water jar off my painting desk, sending glass shards all over my floor. Dang Peanut.

Tomorrow I will be starting a #100DayProject where I will play in my sketchbook every day. I figured this would be a good way to finish some small sketchbooks that have been floating around my studio space.

Say Hello to the first sun painting created in the basement studio! Everything is still a mess & nothing is organized but I’ve carved a space in a chaos to create. That’s really all you can do, right? #folkart

I talked myself out of a trip
in November because I just don’t know how this year is going to shake out & good lord how do we hold on to hope? I really wanted to see an artist I love several states away but traveling kinda makes me uneasy now?

I can honestly say that I have zero regrets about selling my studio building. I may be kind of clueless as to what I’m doing with my free time at the moment, but the art will come soon.

I hate to say it, but my current answer is no, this event would not have had the same impact had it been hosted at my old art studio.

I am someone that loves to analyze the reasons & ways a creative event works. I am certain the location & the number of artists involved, as well as the subject matter, helped make the night a success. Would this same event work if it were held at the old studio? I am questioning if it's possible.

I'm still reeling from the amazing turnout at last night's art show. The vibes were just right, location was fantastic, the weather was perfect. We supported a small businesses, we showed off our art, we met up with friends that we've only known online. People drove from hours away just to attend!

Getting 20+ artists together for a show, running around picking up their work from various cities, spending hours hanging & printing name tags…man, it kept me busy enough to avoid several days of news. Nice! I need to curate another show asap!

Decided to sell my studio building at the beginning of Nov, then spent so much time finishing commissions & holiday stuff then moved all my stuff out. Finally got back to making personal work & I am happy to say I. Am. Back. Baby! I love being an artist so much!

Every time I read a news update I'm just overwhelmed with the feeling of *what do we do what do we do who's in charge here will good prevail?* & I guess I'll just get back to working on this painting.
