& another audiobook!
Hmm actually thinking back I had a short phase of those misery memoirs as a like, 11, 12 year old? So not exclusively fiction
Whereas as a kid it was exclusively fiction audiobooks e.g. hp etc on long car drives (we used to drive to Wales most weekends between ages like 7 and 9). Actually on the topic of author consistency I should give Eva ibbotsen's adult novels a crack
Definitely genre consistency, and tbh a lot of author consistency as several of the authors i liked as a kid have both childrens and adult books. I was an almost exclusively fiction reader as a kid tho and I read a lot of non fiction nowadays. Into audiobooks about the same amount? But only non fic

So when Reform accepts £4 million from this man, are they sure of where this money actually coming from? A man convicted of running a platform deliberately designed to hide the origins of money is now pouring cash into British politics. Red flag, red flag, red flag.
The more you love ProPublica, the more reason to not visit their site today.
A paperback copy of lamorna ash's don't forget we're here forever
So march wasn't the most successful reading month! Let's have another crack at it. As someone who is exceedingly irreligious hopefully this will expose me to some interesting new perspectives!

exchanged on the house today!! now for admin! (getting move booked in, emailing notice to landlord, actually letting me think about all the bills I need to set up on day 1)
A wedge of focaccia and a generous slice of school cake, in white bowls on a small cafe table
Yes this will fix me
Maybe I'll be less discontent if I have some cake. Worth a try.

Such articulate cutting through of the nonsense around puberty blockers and eg Keira Bell’s detransitioning from Stephanie Lynnette on GMB this morning. It is also a refreshing relief to see a trans person actually being allowed to speak for once!
Good news that the digitised Beowulf manuscript has survived the digital equivalent of the Cottonian Library fire, the British Library cyberattack of 2023
I'm suing Grammarly over its paid AI feature that presented editing suggestions as if they came from me - and many other writers and journalists - without consent.
State law requires consent before someone's name can be used for commercial purposes.

Audit of the freezer done and a meal plan through to next Tues so that's my productivity for the day done, I think (jk I'm at work in 2 hours)
Also while I was fighting despair by sorting laundry and watering plants I want to say Happy International Women's Day to the women and especially the women who are in the closet about that
It's your day! Even if it's a secret
