I terribly miss my old art school days, but not in a nostalgic sense. Perhaps it's time to say goodbye to all this nonsense and go back to art?
If you wanted to, I dunno, give someone money, you could buy stock they were selling that they were awarded from their options or from the IPO with a staggered release...
A beautiful, happy dog bounds towards the camera through an obstacle course—the television chyron indicates the dog’s name is RAGNAROTH, DEVOURER OF SOULS
Sadly, we must live in the apocalypse we’re dealt, never the one we desire.
I have some online friends at the Other Place, with whom I discuss free jazz and experimental music. Other than them, I'd be happy to leave, but it's an issue. What say you?
I'm really impressed with the reporting being done by the @csmonitor.bsky.social right now: www.csmonitor.com
I was always hoping the decline of the US would be a slow, gradual thing. Turns out it was like the approach of death in general: slow, then fast.
Pleased to say that I own a copy of this LP, as seen in this, another, canonical photograph of a room in Paris:
No doubt I have shared this before, but this performance of Coltrane's Olé (a masterpiece) by Pharoah is just amazing. Especially when he takes the horn out of his mouth and just screams. www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEfO...
Makes sense. Skype is barely usable, whereas Teams is completely un-usable.
Lovely pick-up from a recent trip to Belfast: Twilight Dreams by Lester Bowie's Brass Fantasy. Trombone and trumpet bonkers jazz rendition of Michael Jackson's Thriller was a surprise.
I found a Mobile Fidelity Miles Davis reissue at a market in Belfast, unopened. As a result, I am taking my leave of you people and will henceforth be found debating valve amps and gold-plated USB cables on some web site, somewhere. Moving up in the world...
Watched The Banshees of Inisherin last night. Love Brendan Gleeson & like Colin Farrell; didn't like the film. Stage Irish clichés, OK sure. Decent yarn, yes. However, implied portrayal of Ire conflicts (civil war, partition) rubbed me up the wrong way & the direction seemed artless.
Polish jazz and electro? Yes, please: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfBR...
An infographic titled '11 Acoustic Comfort - Green Homes Essentials Countdown'. The image shows a cartoon illustration of two semi-detached houses. In one house, a boy is singing loudly into a microphone. On the other side of the party wall, another boy is fast asleep in bed. The text explains that green homes are like ear muffs that block out noise from neighbours or the hubbub of the road outside. A 'Smarter Finance for EU' logo appears in the bottom left corner.
Green homes = quiet homes, but only 38% of respondents so far to the Smarter Finance for EU Green Homes Sentiments survey see this as a key green homes characteristic – placing it 11th on our top 14 list.
The two-minute survey is still live. Have your say: www.surveymonkey.com/r/BCK5SZ5
"Illustration promoting green homes and reduced car dependency. The image features a bus with two passengers, a person walking with a shopping bag, and a cyclist. Text reads: 'Reduced car dependency. Green homes enable and encourage car-free living by tapping into networks of schools, shops, public transport, and amenities nearby. If you can easily walk, cycle, or take public transport to work or school, it gives you more time for other things – improving the quality of your life.' The image is part of the 'Green Homes Essentials Countdown' campaign by Smarter Finance for EU."
Do people really get what makes a green home? 🚗 🤔 Ranking 14th and last in our green homes essentials countdown, only 20.6% of respondents to the #Smarter4EU Green Homes Sentiment Survey said reduced car use is essential. Have your say in this two-minute survey www.surveymonkey.com/r/BYPQVJH

Crashing sound in middle of night. Didn't seem to come from in here. Back to sleep. This morning, my coats on the banister and my coat and hat-rack in bits. Humiliated. I hate being the noisy dickhead on the top floor.
Spiral staircase as the only access to apartment, but resulting in an extra, small room (due to a landing being able to be converted). Yay or nay?
