We circled for half an hour and then diverted to DFW, so I figured it must be pretty bad. I’m happy to have the rain I guess, but also would very much like the get home. 😰

This isn't your typical panel on AI best practices. It's a candid look at the future of work & how we build a workforce that thrives.

A cup of coffee in front of a laptop - looks calm and peaceful but IT engineers may already have an overflowing in box and tasks to do that involves fragmented tools and hopping from tool to tool takes time and resources.

A judge ordered Google to share its search data. What does that mean for user privacy? The ruling in the Google antitrust trial has led to a host of hard-to-answer questions about the future of Google's search data, which the tech giant must now share with competitors. What does that me...

Anyone else worried about what this means when say Palintir decides to build (or buy) a ‘qualified competitor’ and can get access to all of our search data?

@adrianamvillela.bsky.social we’ve been trying to find the right folks to talk to @dynatrace.com about your developer program, but haven’t had any luck. Any chance you could reach out on LI (or lmk where we can reach the team privately)? I suspect you’re the right person or would know who is.

Me: why does it now say my next Jira will bill at $30+?
Atlassian: you are on the premium plan
Me: I only asked for standard
Atlassian: you’ll need to open a support ticket to change plans. We can’t do that online

All I can say is ‘wow’.

Me: My trial of Jira was useful, let me renew the basic plan
Atlassian: Great, that’s $10
Atlassian 9 days later: now pay us more for your Confluence license
Me: I don’t have confluence, please move me to the free plan
Atlassian: TY signing up for the Confluence trial. We will bill you next week

Spooky timing, I was just discussing the Dynatrace MCP server with someone minutes ago. I’ll check this out.

What really frustrated me about blue iris is that since it had to run on windows, and because windows sucks, it would regularly reboot against my wishes for updates, and I’d lose a big chunk of recordings until I noticed and restarted blue iris. I finally abandoned it for ring. 🤦‍♂️

For once, my rep Roy could actually be a key swing vote, even if for very different reasons than I would like. Everyone, please take the time to call your rep, especially if you are in a red district. I just focused on the debt, loss of rural heathcare, and cuts for billionaires through gimmicks. 🤞

I mean, what do you expect when his gear was only level 52? 😈

I think the worst is @verizonofficial.bsky.social and Subaru who flat out refuse to remove my email from someone’s account and won’t let me opt out without account details. I’ve tried recovering ‘my’ account, hours on the phone with each, reported for can-spam violations, and nothing.

It’s a bit uncanny how bad some people seem to be at remembering their own email. I get a ton of wrong emails at several of my gmails for the same few people, ranging from spam to very personal medical details and other emails. It also really annoys me that so many companies don’t do dual opt-in.

I installed an Emporia Vue in each panel for per circuit monitoring, flashed with ESPHome, and then added that custom dashboard to HomeAssistant. It was great to hunt down my bigger energy users and eliminate what I could. I also added a sankey chart for daily, but it needs some cleanup now.

Picture of realtime electricity consumption with over 4kW going to AC and fan.

That’s awesome! I can in winter, and any spring and fall when the temps drop low enough overnight. When it’s running, my AC uses a ton of energy sadly.

That report format looks familiar. :) my only regret with this system (aside from wishing my AC wasn’t such an energy hog) is not getting at least one more battery. Without net metering, having to export and then reimport so much is costing me.
