So is there like an agency or a special design house that explicitly creates unique travel mug + lid configurations and thread pitch for a) different companies and b) different years/lines for the same company? It MUST be a centralized effort for them to be consistently incompatible. How wasteful.

Yesterday, a hilarious situation kept unfolding in a Halifax cafe I was in - their ice machine was being cleaned ("would be working again in 40mins"), but there had been at LEAST half a dozen people that asked for iced drinks in the first 20-30 mins I was there. It was -12ยฐC. Canadians are great lol

The Carney effect, or the "without Trudeau, Conservatives have no boogeyman or messaging" effect?

I think a big chunk of this has just been PP not being able to dominate the news cycle recently due to the noise floor being so high (thanks USA).

At what point is it treason? Just curious...

And y'see, I thought I'd be safe because of that but I kept opening new chrome windows over top. I tried unsuccessfully four times - the chats time out and disconnect with 5 mins of inactivity on either side. After 2 disconnections on their side and two from mine, I'm calling in now lol

When it comes to interactions with the customer service at a company, I'm not sure there's a method that is more appealing to me, but more instantly regrettable, than Chat. The requirement to keep the window active/visible is absolutely brutal on my ADHD when waiting for responses... ๐Ÿซ

Upon going into the settings for Notepad (????), I discovered it somehow has AI features? In what should be the most basic text editor on the planet??

This program literally doesn't have markup/syntax highlighting, and we get AI features for rewriting sentences?

Do people use Notepad for prose...?

Notepad.exe should not have AI features, and my mind will NOT be changed regarding this.

I recently noticed *notepad* being laggy/stuttery when typing in it at high speeds, or using keyboard macros to enter text. This shouldn't be a thing at all - zero barriers between keypress and text please.

Working titles: "Balloon boy 2.0", "Let's see New Jersey parking enforcement try to tow THESE!!", "I tricked the US military into thinking I was invading New Jersey!!", plus the potential for them being some random Mr Beast money-cannons for a future over-hyped video...

So the party election which earned Poilievre the leadership of the CPC was tinkered with by the Indian government by strong-arming MP Michelle Rempel.

And Poilievre refuses to get his security clearance, so he can't read the report.

Something's fishy.

Just one week without random appointments or sick kids being home, that's all I ask - thankful I work from home, but it's so hard to stay in the zone and keep that work/life seperation

Just feels like the curtain has been pulled back on how many people truly do not give a shit about the folks around them. And I've become more aware of how many "traditionally male" hobbies expect the partner to provide free housework/childcare with no equity of opportunity to have their own time.

In the last couple years I've found myself withdrawing away from anything outside my home/family. It's so difficult make friends IRL (politics/values/schedule) - it feels like I would need to sacrifice time with my kids and place an unfair burden of work on my partner. Anyone else feel this?

And to get it, you had to have employment income in 2023.

So, people on AISH? Nothing.

Unhoused people? Nothing.

Stay-at-home parents? Nothing.

Retired people. Nothing.

And $250 one-time? 5 months from now? Really?

Too little, too late - but one of our best recent purchases is a vehicle booster that *also* is a 10,000mAh battery that charges USB A+C stuff. If I need a boost after I land (every time I travel) its <2 mins to get running. I'd be traveling with a battery bank anyways, no extra room packing.
