Last night, after an hours-long public hearing, Monterey Park became the first city in California to pass an ordinance permanently banning data centers.
The city council voted unanimously to declare data centers a public nuisance, and to "prohibit all data centers within city limits."

Some of my editorial work comes via Reedsy. Over the past year it's become completely overrun by people (I can't call them authors) who are asking for editorial help on manuscripts that have been generated by #AI. Often, what they want is for someone to make the text sound more human.

If you use Discord either uninstall the game or stop using Discord because that "game" is accessing way too much data it shouldn't, even reading your DMs and sending them to the devs.

while it is a relief to see Discord is no longer partnering with Persona and the age verification rollout has been delayed, that fact they still plan to go through with it is not great. Age verification doesn't ever reduce harm to children, just makes it easier to track people online.
