DJ sets (or just music) at show volume became pretty regular and like at that point the store’s listening stations just became useless cause you weren’t gonna be able to hear the LP you were testing over the music

Not very conducive to browsing

And the atmosphere was really nice too, it was a relaxing place to be in and you could get lost in the bins, just digging and digging

That kinda became rare with the new crew

Other than the original staff which I got to know over the years, the thing I really liked about Radio-Active was just how good the selection was

A lot of new records, yes, but their used section was the meat and potatoes of the store, and it was usually pretty stacked

Yesss it’s great! It’s the sequel to Tail Concerto, the characters from that cameo in it in one of the missions/quests

A photo of Radio-Active Records’s storefront in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The outside of the shopping center building is painted in a light teal, with darker teal accents. The large windows are emblazoned with Radio-Active’s branding, and inside, you can see all the bins of records lined up and fully stocked.

Speaking of record stores god I miss Radio-Active in Fort Lauderdale…

By far my favorite that used to be nearby (aside from Record Rack in Pompano, which I miss just as much)

My only issue is its decline before the end, cool old staff left and then weird new staff came and changed the whole vibe

I have not played Fuga or the mobile only one but Tail Concerto and Solatorobo rock

Very fun rpgs indeed

There wasn’t anything of interest to me this year wrt to the RSD exclusives so I wasn’t there for that

I always go regardless just in case the regular stock is discounted

I’m just not used to this big of a hullabaloo at any of my locals

They really made it an event this year

Good news: their other location was much calmer πŸ‘

Also the loudspeakers, no no no

I suppose on one level I should be elated the local record store is packed to the gills on RSD but also me, the creature that prefers a cozy, quiet store to browse is agitated at the sight of a huge line stretching through the shopping plaza

Happy for them but sitting this one out methinks

This is how I feel too, I can list names but only a second person would be able to tell me which come through audibly

If it was around 3 hours with the occasional scratched up shot now and then then yes it is the most complete one

It’s interesting seeing the shorter ones for comparison

The Moroder version from 1984 is cool for all the music in it, also being like one of the first big restoration attempts

I’ve always thought woven straps were the coolest

I would get one if they still made mega wide ones like they did back in the day

Some of the vintage Ace brand ones are stupid money on eBay

the fact that legislators are trying to say that computers are devices that require id verification and tracking to use should put fear into EVERYONE. FIGHT AGAINST THIS.
