tools. When my daughter, who is in sixth grade, begins writing an essay, she gets a prompt: “Help me write.” If she is starting work on a slide-show presentation, the prompt is “Help me visualize.” She shoos away these interruptions, but they persist: “Help me edit.” “Beautify this slide.” The image generator is there, if she’d ever wish to pull the plug on her imagination. The Gemini chatbot is there, if she ever wants to talk to no one.

If journalists had any integrity and courage, they would boycott the White House Correspondents Dinner. It should be as empty as a TPUSA event.

I don't think I'll ever get over Clarence Thomas ruling on cases related to Jan 6 knowing that his wife was an active participant in the attempted coup.

Or ruling on cases related to government regulations and a wealth tax knowing he took gifts from billionaires.

It's a disgrace.

900lb crates full of onions in a field

The Coachella music festival is in the news with the minimum price of sold out 3-day ticket costing $549. Contrast that with "Nicolas" who is currently harvesting onions in the Coachella area and getting paid $22 for a $900lb crate. #WeFeedYou #coachella2026

This is what Gabbard does to protect her position. Her job is not protecting the security of the United States of America; it’s serving Trump‘s revenge fantasies.

The Russ Vought hearing is starting now. It's the first time Vought has testified before Congress since his confirmation hearings, so it's the first time Congress will be able to question him about the onslaught of illegal budgetary actions he has undertaken. I'll be posting in this thread.

Actually — Nixon historian here — the literal origins of the “Madmen Theory” is Nixon trying to convince the Soviet he’d nuke North Vietnam. Also: Nixon and Kissinger’s illegal bombing of Cambodia was one of his original impeachable offenses by Congress.

Note to the White House Press Corps: Listening to the Mad King rant, rave, & ramble is less than pointless. It makes you measurably dumber, each & every time.

Relying on JD Vance for World Peace couldn't possibly go wrong. He spent ONE WHOLE DAY working on the problem . . . then he took his balls & went home.

So if you don't open the Strait, we're gonna close the Strait. Are we geniuses, or what?

the funny thing about sending jd vance out to do sensitive diplomatic negotiations is he has literally no experience. like, none whatsoever. he doesn't even have related experience in lawmaking or some executive role.

Trump was elected to wipe the trauma of the first black president from American history, a task which included scrapping the nuclear deal that had the US in a much better strategic position than before this needless, unconstitutional war of choice against Iran

The 28th Virginia battle flag is a Confederate battle flag that belonged to the 28th Virginia Infantry Regiment. Captured by the 1st Minnesota Infantry Regiment at the Battle of Gettysburg, the flag was brought to Minnesota and exhibited at the state's capitol for several years before passing into the permanent collection of the Minnesota Historical Society after 1896 where it has remained since.

Happy Confederate Surrender Day from Minnesota where we still have your goddamn flag and we’re not giving it up.

I don't think my working title "Impeachment Today, Impeachment Tomorrow, Impeachment Forever" is going to make it through editing.

Also, it's good to have editors.

A WHOLE CIVILIZATION
WILL DIE TONIGHT
My son needs lunch, and I have to put his backpack together, but a whole civilization will die tonight, so I'm wondering if they've closed their schools.
Like, a snow day, maybe, except instead of snow it's
"keep your children home so if you die, you die together" — instead of "well open back up once the plows have cleared" it's
"we don't know if we'll be here tomorrow, hold your babies tight."
It's just "talk" I'm told, which I've been told before.
"It's how the president makes his deals." But I've never heard anyone talk about other human beings this way, and I'm not certain I can look my son in the eyes if we all agree to stomach it one more time.
A civilization will die tonight, but as I zip up his backpack and kiss him off to school I think: if this is what we call leadership then I'm not entirely sure ours isn't already dead.
