Garden update. I continued to rip up the lawn, added a bird bath which was only $49?? Blueberries are in. Planted snap peas and broad beans.

…no experience with coaching.
Got an email congratulating me on being a successful candidate today. It’s going to be very interesting to see where this goes.

A few weeks ago I decided to throw my hat in the ring for a state cycling coach position. After over a decade competing in the sport and with my exercise science degree behind me I decided to see if I could make my actual passion a part of my work. I didn’t have high hopes because I literally have…

Aw man, I went to my favourite nurseries, I bought some more plants, and then had a sad realisation that I’m now done with plants until probably September. There is no more space. Meh.

Iiiitttttssss payday which means it’s time to spend all my money on plants. Not going to lie I have already bought my seeds for the next 12 months this morning ($35!!) and now it is time to hit some nurseries.

Seriously though I have bags on bags on bags under my bed, boxes of them in cupboards, and the best ones are scattered everywhere.

Here are some that didn’t go outside. Man I love rocks.

I collect rocks…it’s becoming a problem because I’m running out of spaces to hide them in the house and so I had a great idea of turning some of them into garden edging. I’m going to use clay from my yard to stick them together a bit but I’ve realised I don’t actually have enough rocks.

And you know they absolutely would 😂🤣

The bottom section is the only flat bit and I did build a no dig bed there for one season before realising it was shady as heck. So now it’s the lawn for the dogs to fight on.

I’ve given up on trying to fix my clay which is why there are a million raised beds 😂

She getting there. I spent a full 2 years planting green manure and cutting it down and that was literally all I did. Every time I see a worm I get so excited.

In less depressing news my garden improvement project is continuing to go well. I found 15 random strawberry plants in the driveway yesterday so put those in the ground. I’m going to get 4 more of the little beds in the next couple of months and I think I’ll be done with beds.

Cyclist found with critical injuries following suspected hit and run The man was found unconscious and with critical injuries by a passing motorist on the Gold Coast this morning.

How there are people in the world that could hit someone with a car and leave them on the side of the road is absolutely beyond me.

Yesterday I made a huge mistake, panicked and bought a $9 pat of French butter. I’d forgotten about French butter, have now been reminded of what butter is meant to be like, and now all other butter is garbage. So I’m going to have to have two butters…cooking butter and spreading butter.

I love dogs and I love my dogs but man they are such little predators sometimes and I think people forget that. Look at the size of my puppies teeth: absolute thylacine.

I didn’t eat enough today because I was asleep so I thought I’d make myself a high calorie girl dinner. I swear while I was preparing items I didn’t realise that I’d made a theme. I cooked brinner…it’s delicious but definitely brinner.

And that extra time is being spent well while I’m young and can focus on things I probably won’t be able to when I’m 80 like competitive road cycling.

And sure night shift undeniably reduces your lifespan but to make the income I do without it I’d need to work at a minimum 9 days a fortnight. Let’s say I retire in 30 years, take 4 weeks leave per year, night shift is saving me 7.9 years of my own personal time which is still a net gain of 1 year.

Finished my run of night shifts for another week.
Now 8 days off.
It’s so funny to me that I started studying to change careers before realising the issue I had with nursing was a work life balance. I earn more now doing 5 days pf than I could full time in allied health.

Not going to lie I was very nervous cooking my sandwich press bacon this morning but no alarms were set off so I’ll be doing that again.

Forced 2am energy drink review because someone (it was me) forgot their sugar free RedBull. I actually really rated this, I’ve been off V since they changed their recipe but this tastes nothing like V. It’s definitely raspberry forward 9/10.
