The 10 nuclear reactors that power the ComEd region of Illinois have saved ratepayers billions of dollars since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. And they have effectively decarbonized the electricity we consume in the region. Just incredible stuff. I wish they were publicly owned.

Everything they’ve been saying in pressers and the wee bit of video suggests they plan on min 5 Q runs a game I’d guess. Maybe way more than that. And perhaps even against teams of a caliber Jim would never waste Q runs on.

GT Counter (instead of GH) not a big scheme for us last year or the year before and we didn’t look comfortable running it when we did.

On O, run game was IZ with a sprinkle of OZ and a decent chunk of GT Counter with a true run read accounting for the DE. Think we’ll get a lot more of that in the fall but with bigger personnel and Jet Bash Q Counter esp. to help widen the DE.

Now, they might decide to play some more QQH given what they were walking into? But they won’t play it like Minter (MEG vs MOD, different run fits). I didn’t see a ton of it watching BYU last year but it is the 2nd Nickel install after Man in the Utah State Anderson playbook.

Definitely going to take some getting used to watching actual MEG quarters. I wonder if we’re going to see some more MOD mixed in given how much these guys are used to running it.

Oh also a 5-1 Penny that we ofc ran plenty of but is popular among lots of DCs in pro and college, including Patricia at OSU last year.

So, there actually is a little more of interest in the Carr portion. Really can see a lot of the fronts and personnel that I expected from Hill. The back end is still pretty vanilla but going between 6 and Quarters. But there’s Tite from 4-2 personnel, a 5-0-5 stack from 3-3, 4i-0-5 from both?

FTR no I didn’t think Bryce looked good. Carr seems fine. I just don’t think that matters much. Historically this game is not predictive. Learn a lot more about the structure of the O and D and how guys move.

If Whitt doesn’t like it being called the Aranda tree he can take it up with CFB Twitter

One thing you do see is the actual MEG quarters which Michigan has not run at all but is the basis of the Aranda tree quarters.

I think it was same personnel but different front. Mint instead of Over.

I think the D is literally just calling the same shit over and over. Blech.

I don’t think Whitt or the players are super invested in this. Curious what they did at Utah.

Both the O and D look like last year’s calls and personnel. Funny!

Lots of 11 and inside zone. No real gap yet?

3 days ago 1 0 1 0

Actually a ton of zone, plenty of what they call Jet 6. Which is…QQH! But quarters and C3 too.

Not sure I’ve seen C1.

Multiple blitzes with plenty of fire zone and man. A little two high pressure.

Very curious to see just how much 2 high overall we see and how much variation within it. Also curious how many personnel packages we see and how multiple the fronts will be.

What I’m expecting on D:

Not the Minter D at all, which bases out of QQH.

One gap run fits with lots of spilling. Fill interior gaps with DL and games and multiple fronts, let LBs and DBs pursue the ball to the sideline.

Fair amount of pure man with MEG quarters and C3 change ups.

What I’m expecting on O:

Little to no actual Q run but an O that will clearly run a ton of it.

Big personnel, lots of 12 and a bit of extra OL.

Soooo much jet.

Urban Meyer O w more beef plus a little vertical shot stuff. Possibly some Veer and Shoot style deep choice.

BTW hardcore fans absolutely should walk on teams like this way way more often. You can always come back but part of why these ding dongs persist is bc the rain or shine fans will keep showing up for all the good reasons that fans do what they do.

In dour moods I sometimes wonder which of the Bulls and Sox are worse run? They’re both, what, the 2nd worst org in their respective leagues?

But there’s that and then there’s alienating the premier lesbian sports bar in town to the point where they give up on your WNBA franchise.

Yeah people like to dunk on this thing but it looks cool when I’ve seen it in person. It’s certainly _different_ but I think that’s good.
