Since that new VHS filter web app smells a bit bad to me, I think it's a good occasion to recommend ntsc.rs
It's just as accurate, you can run it on your actual computer, and works with videos too!

its also why i feel bad reaching out to music people im somewhat friendly with when i have new music im allowed to share: "hey we havent spoken in like 15 months but look at this thing that *I* did/am doing!" probably not as bad as i'm imagining it is but man does it never not feel Wrong lol
once again wishing i was more active in music spaces, but good etiquette requires me to listen to the music posted there and that requires time my brain won't let me delegate to it so i just end up feeling too fake and self-centered to really participate
still proud of these remixes
enjoy!

DYNOPUNCH VGM Remixed Just Relesed!
Two years ago I asked my friend moose if he could make a remix of seven video game songs that were eventually forgotten... Until now!
Links in comments!
he deserves your money. go buy the mr elevator OST, some rly quirky stuff here mushiofunazawa.bandcamp.com/album/mr-ele...
once i figured out all my favorite chords are just voice leading, everything fell into place
man i still love that one myself
Welcome
also some time ago i moved out and also my c drive blew up and i've had to rebuild my capabilities since (i'm making music again at least to whom it may concern but videos will be a ways off yet)
i miss old soundcloud. i want a Place to put music for friends to see again
garden nebula still rocks i should rip off hideaki kobayashi more often, i say in the replies of a song where i ripped off late aughts norio hanzawa
to this day i still have no idea what toby thinks of the song i did for his prompt all those years ago lmao
probably for the best i think. compared to then ive gotten more secure and also Way better at music
of course now i wanna see a similarly robust looping feature come to other streaming/music apps specifically where game music is “officially” posted. hopefully the demand is there. it might be a bit much if it’s more self contained apps though (sega/square enix music subscription apps lmao)
and now seeing virtual boy soundtracks potentially being a thing on the service is incredibly exciting. i could watch everything on youtube but having the option to keep a tune going longer rather than going to a whole new video that’s only 15/30/60 minutes is just slightly more convenient imo
im actually a very big fan of nintendo music barring some small
hang ups (the crediting of composers/arrangers would be nice but i can see the logistical hurdles behind some of it). i like the rate of the soundtrack releases, the extension feature, the pictures, it’s just all such a delight
alright busta, it's time ta pack it up, da boss says so
i still have no eta on any music going up at the moment. i'd have to sort out what can and shouldn't go up yet
i do have a day job now though and things are looking up overall
been remaking classical music pieces i like in musescore+musesounds for a while now. it's taught me quite a bit about orchestra writing, even if it's mainly in spite of musesounds not playing back certain quirks of the orchestra correctly (diviso/unison emulation pls)
i might not have read the assignment lol
a pixel doodle of a moose accompanied by text that reads "I don't know if it could be called 'impact' but I had a wonderful time playing it! Experiencing the world, meeting the funny characters, it really was and is something special."
loved loved loved pet sounds when i finally heard it back in 2016. couldn't get enough of that sound, but i'm happy there was so much of it to enjoy, from the early days even til (somewhat) recently
thanks again, brian

This is a fantastic essay on a very influential journalist, critic & game designer of the 80s and on how he helped CRPGs, JRPGs and anime subs (lol) move forward.
Like Jennell Jayquays, it's one of those figures that get overshadowed by big names, but the more you research, the more you admire them
