I say this to say: just do whatever you want. People are kind of stupid and if you let them infect you with their stupid you’re going to lose. Just do what’s in your heart because you know what you want to see more of out there. These people don’t know shit.

Just the fact that I describe what I make as “beats” drives so many people on YouTube up a wall. They want to fill me in on their guitar-forward endeavors and how it’s more genuine that what I could ever do. You can’t say anything back to them.

If I were using the MPC to chop a 70’s record you’d have people telling me that they pine for the days when people actually made “real music” and that beatmakers are poisoning the water supply so…
