31 Days Of Halloween Comics: Sleep Don't sleep on this one.

Sleep by writer and artist Zander Cannon from Image Comics is a tense monster tale that never shows the monster.

Fallcon in Minnesota is a pretty low-key con (just artists and comic dealers), if that’s more your speed. Twin Cities Con is a lot bigger and more “mainstream” (I.e. has tv stars, etc).

I put together this Speed Racer over a couple of streams this week. Kind of a quick piece, but fun. I think I may have drawn this character once in my life.

The request was for Man-Thing on a Swamp-Thing cover. I feel that Marvel is really dropping the ball by not putting out a Man-Thing sketch cover. I mean, just do a Giant-Size reprint or something!

If I were to start an X-Mem team I’d start with this group right here and add in Wolverine, Storm, and Magneto. So, basically the “80s Magneto is the headmaster of the school” Claremont run with Magik all grown up.

The flip side to the last Spidey cover I did. I had to use a Posca paint marker to get this blue color. I’m not a fan of the Posca plastic tips, so I was kind of grumpy having to use it. But, it was the right call and the color worked out well.

Finished product. Had to use acrylic markers to paint over the circle that is printed on this book, which worked better than I’d thought. I switched to the Sharpie brand from Posca, because it has a better flow and the brush tips are easier on the paper.

Progress so far on an ASM #301 commission. I’ve been asked to do a #301 and #300 homage. I prefer how John Romita did the webbing on Spidey’s suit, so I’m using that as inspiration instead of McFarlane’s webbing.

What’s this for?!

Finished this back cover last night. It’s Kraven dressed as Spidey from the famous Kraven’s Last Hunt story. I had to use three different colors to come away with the right shade for the sky.

Last night my kids wanted to draw together. My oldest is really interested in learning more about anatomy, so I sat down and gave her a quick lesson. It was pretty fun! While they were doing quick figure drawings I doodled in this sketch book.

Surprised myself last night as I completed this Jo e Fixit version of the Incredible Hulk in just a few hours. I typically work pretty slow, so I was hyped that I got it done so quickly.

I re-read Grommets last night by @remender.bsky.social, Brian Posehn, @blitzcadet.bsky.social, and Moreno Donisio (this time on @globalcomix.com — don’t worry I bought the books too!)

Loved the story, nostalgia, art, all of it, basically. I was so mad there wasn’t another panel at the end.

A little work in progress. An homage to the classic Mike Zeck cover, but using Spidey’s black suit to work more like the PS Spidey video game. I don’t work on non-white paper often, but the Prismacolor colored pencils sure make it fun.
