you don’t have to truly /believe/ in it, but you can play with the idea! imagine it! dream more & bigger! free your mind!

Sometimes the path ahead in life is dark and murky… rarely is the way forward well-lit, and it can be scary to venture into the dark alone. During times like these, it’s hard to know where to go. Worries, fears, and past experiences can surround us and keep us stuck in place, or even convince us to turn tail and run backwards. When these feelings start to overwhelm you, I invite you to hold onto this thought instead: what if it all works out? Even if it doesn’t go to plan, even if everything happens differently than you expected, even if it’s harder than anything you’ve ever experienced… just remember… what if it all works out? ✨ When you change the way you view moments like these, it can help shift the way you think about them too. Belief and hope are the foundation for inspiration and motivation, and when you believe anything is possible, it truly is! the only silver lining to that experience is that i’ve gotten more comfortable with creating what i want to now and don’t rely on early-concept feedback for validation anymore. but the way it broke my heart is still something i carried with me for a long time 💔

it put me off plushie creation for well over 5 years. it ruined the already little confidence i had back then, and made me highly guarded. with Critterfolk, i still refuse to share any early concepts. i only share them once the sample is complete. i can’t risk giving my ideas away for free again

back in 2018(?) i posted a plushie concept design. my fans LOVED IT and it went semi-viral on twitter, but i didn’t have the means at the time to produce it. within months, an artist much larger than i totally ripped my concept down to the name. they ran a whole crowdfunding campaign with my idea

yes!!! the ship’s commander’s spouse passed away a few years ago, so the other astronauts called NASA and asked that one of the newly discovered craters on the moon be officially named Carroll after her as they flew by :’)
