I'm not the person to check you! You suggest a song, I'll add it to the playlist. No QC at all.
Also just added Pete Seeger doing "Never Wed An Old Man".
Added! Also, feel free to have at it. You may (or may not) remember that when I set up this playlist I gave you editing access.
But I'm also happy to add things if that invitation got lost. No biggie.
Please add me!
I know it's A Thing. I still find it gross.
Hola, bsbookclub members who read Bleak House! Any songs you want to add to our playlist now that you've seen the Big Picture? 🔒

Sigh, terrible that I don't even need sourcing, I know this quote so well. The cite for this is in the alt but you can also learn about it's context here.

And thanks! This actually reduces my frustration with the novel.
Yeah, this all checks out as far as I can see.
Honestly, I think it's quite possible I'm someone else's Wario.
"Taika Waititi but make him unfuckable."
Oh shit.
One big political divide is between people who believe germs cause disease and people who believe Those People cause disease. It was pretty evident right away during the pandemic
brb off to figure out who I have to pay to see Natasha Lyonne as Columbo.
Oh good point. I just mentioned Ada but Caddy was definitely close to being an actual human. And Charley was, at least off and on.
She was not an actual human. George, who occupied far fewer pages than she did, expressed himself and had far more personality than she did.
But this was generally true of the female characters, no? Richard was aggravating but human. Ada? She was sweet and beautiful.

Have to admit that I have no memory at all of this scene that happened 47,632 pages ago. But I believe you!
I like the way you phrase that, though, and I think this is why I found Esther so gd frustrating: she completely lacks interiority. And half the book is told through her eyes!
Oh, I definitely don't think Dickens meant him to be creepy -- I think we are meant to view him as the Best of what wealth and privilege can produce. From my wildly different point of view, though, 🤮.
I used to spend the month of March every year at the University of Tokyo (Hongo Campus). One of my fondest memories was when the lab made an outing to Nezu Shrine to see the azaleas in bloom. Just stunning.

2) A path of 150 year old 'kirishima-tsutsuji' (キリシマツツジ) welcome visitors to Nagaoka-Tenmangū (長岡天満宮).
This protected species of azalea also lines the banks of Hachijōgaike Pond (八条ヶ池), creating a dazzling red landscape.
Really? Damn. I graduated high school in 1982. Always thought I was just too young for this stuff. Now I feel like I was robbed.

Coming back here to say I think we're supposed to view Guardian as benevolent and wonderful but that dude is creepy af.
Ah! Whereas I did that backwards. Started learning foreign languages, where I was formally taught grammar, and then realized that English has grammar too.
Justin Trudeau's real father is Fidel Castro.
I bet!
