Finally US pub day for this little monster co-birthed with my friend @bentarnoff.com, an adventure that made made us closer, neither of us would have had the stomach for it alone!

In a nutshell. 😊
I just donated $100 to Union Now, a centralized New York strike fund that will support *all* striking union workers. It's a model for supporting workers at a time when union density is below 10% but union support is over 70%. Unions will save America.

Congrats on “opening” a strait that was open six weeks ago, and all it cost was at least 13 dead service members, thousands of dead Iranian civilians, tens of billions in taxpayer dollars, our loss in global standing, and the Iranian regime’s increase in power. Phenomenal work.
Greetings all. I'm looking for a podcast producer to help do a (much) more regular BLOOD IN THE MACHINE show. I thought I'd start by reaching out here, and to the broader BITM community. If this sounds like it's up your alley, details are in the link below:
Wow, looks like this made it into the New Yorker itself! www.newyorker.com/books/book-c...
Thank you again, @doctorow.pluralistic.net! See you Sunday!
agreed. ominous..
Watching the news and rewatching Game of Thrones. Can’t help but get these vibes: one is about a mad king, his conniving sycophants, and his twisted family. The other has dragons.
A shelf full of books at a bookstore., arranged facing outward for sale. On the middle shelf, in the middle, is a gold-colored book with a sword on it titled “Oathbreakers.” You can’t see inside the book, but it has some excellent maps.
@profgabriele.com and @lollardfish.bsky.social: Oathbreakers sighting at Powell’s!
I love seeing books in bookstores by people I know. And it’s even more fun when those books have my maps in them!
I like to leave my card tucked inside of those books.
Just saw over on Instagram that @firestorm.coop, a really awesome worker-owned radical bookstore and mutual aid hub in Asheville, NC, is struggling financially and needs support to stay open.
I highly recommend buying books from them, and becoming a sustainer on Patreon if you can!

Donald Trump has announced his intention to steal the midterms with a voter suppression law that would ban the mail-in voting that he himself uses (which he claims is not fit for purpose).

A bit unfair to Alfred E. Neuman.
and Cowen had the chutzpah to call my book the product of a “defective thinker.” Blurb for the second edition.
Editors’ Note: March 30, 2026: A reader recently alerted The Times that this review included language and details similar to those in a review of the same book published in The Guardian. We spoke to the author of this piece, a freelancer reviewer, who told us he used an A.I. tool that incorporated material from the Guardian review into his draft, which he failed to identify and remove. His reliance on A.I. and his use of unattributed work by another writer are a clear violation of The Times’s standards. The reviewer said he had not used A.I. in his previous reviews for The Times, and we have found no issues in those pieces. The Guardian review of “Watching Over Her” can be read here.
Jaysus Effin' Christ. I hope this leads to a better policy of scrutiny. www.nytimes.com/2026/01/06/b...
Profile of my son's good friend, Woody, the first non-speaking person with autism to publish a novel. Woody (like J) communicates by pointing to letters on a board. There should be no "controversy" about this technique--it is just how non-speakers communicate.

I had a wonderful time with this podcast! Check it out to hear @harryrob1996.bsky.social's smart questions and close reading of The Predatory Sea!
Such a self-indulgent piece, using Habermas to validate his own wounded vanity over not becoming an academic.
Remember everyone who got fired over Charlie Kirk's death.
