100% Clean Energy Hours from 2022-2025. Text says: This chart shows how many hours 100% clean energy met or exceeded demand on the California Independent System Operator grid, which manages about 80% of the state's electricity. In 2025, 1,856 hours, 1,227 hours in 2024, in 2023, 687 hours and in 2022, 147 hours.

This is a major victory on the state's path to 100% clean electricity. Graphic is showing the increase. In 2019, 771MW of battery storage was used it increases every year. As of the end of October 2025, 16,942 MW was used.
🪫⚡California now has nearly 17,000 megawatts of battery storage, one-third of the way to its 2045 goal.
