Great essay! JAWS is one of my earliest memories and the film love of my life - totally agree that it's a movie young kids can (and should!) handle. It's my 10 yo's favourite movie since he saw it at 5 and definitely helped shape him into the focussed and critical movie-watcher he is today.

It’s hilarious - so many people are like “I won’t be fooled again!” but most movies aren’t a puzzle you should be trying to solve - just watch the damn thing. The ending of Sixth Sense ruled because we *didn’t figure it out - they’re ruining the experience for themselves on multiple levels.

No, if anything that might be improved. Cameron has really tinkered with the overall look - it’s very clean and digital looking (though without the smeary waxy-look of traditional DNR) and people are mad that it’s not true to the original - which I get, but I can’t help but like the new experience!
