Matt Damon playing a 14th century French knight that looks like a third baseman for the Phillies. Mullet. Beard. Smells like horse shit, pine tar, and cigarette smoke.

Matt Damon while playing Odysseus who also looks like a third baseman for the Phillies. Long, skinny beard. Smells like horseshit, pine tar, and perhaps Mediterranean herbs.

Every time Matt Damon takes on a period role he ends up looking like a third baseman for the Phillies.

The original script included this element and was filmed, but the Jackson estate later realized they were legally prevented from depicting one of the accusers and so they had to reshoot a third of the film.

I was already sold on this mythical story of how a cluster of disasters led to an unequivocal triumph. Jarrett, Brandes, Eicher, like I imagined them. I was NOT expecting it to work so, so well as a movie. A biopic this is not. A glimpse into the mysteries of creation. It's on the exam, Jazzsky.

saying that charlie brown had "hoes" is like saying that temple of aphrodite at corinth had "hoes". what was happening there was within its own cultural context, and we should be careful about describing it in modern language

It's Robert Smith's 67th birthday today. I've spent much of the last night fortnight listening to, and writing about, the Cure for tomorrow's INVENTORY. My thoughts on Faith etc, available only via www.patreon.com/backlisted. @backlisted.bsky.social

Really enjoyed both the book and film. Only thing I think I would add into the movie is the climate desperation on Earth and what Stratt had them do in Antarctica. Film lacks any real tension back home other than saying “this is important” a lot.

I once again ask those programming movies for 4/20 to stop showing films about stoners and instead book movies that look cool as hell when you're stoned!

“Soon I discovered that this rock thing was true

Jerry Lee Lewis was the devil

Jesus was an architect previous to his career as a prophet

All of a sudden, I found myself in love with the world, so there was only one thing that i could do:
was ding a ding dang my dang a long ling long.”

Somebody let me know when they’re gonna go back to the craft of turning a cheap tough cut into soft brisket instead of using cheater wagyu and whatnot.
