How was it pronounced? Wah-pays?

Wouldn’t that also make DeBoer 1-6 in his last 7 games against Edmonton. Did he think about pulling himself?

You absolutely cannot. You can 16-12. But not 16-16

I used to go to 50+ games a year and watch over 100. The Rockies meant something. Now I’ve maybe watched 10 games in six years. They didn’t just lose the fan—they lost the meaning. People love Coors Field and a night out. But there’s very few fans of the Colorado Rockies anymore.

An Avs/Leafs Game 7 Cup Finals would be tragically poetic

Either that or deciding to miss every shot for an entire quarter. Maybe both?

This is where I’m at. I would take Carle given what he did with Team USA. I do not want Tocchet or another retread.

If not Carle, give me one more year of Bednar

So I get you logic. And this is truly a curious question - when do you make a change? If the same thing happens next year, do you just continue to roll with it?

I personally think he’s a great coach and likely the best in Avs history. But do the players think he’s a good coach? I don’t know. And that concerns me

A bar chart from The Athletic shows NHL players’ responses to the question, “What coach would you most like to play for other than your own?” with 108 responses. Jon Cooper leads with 23.58%, followed by Paul Maurice and “Other” tied at 13.21%. Rod Brind’Amour (8.49%), Craig Berube (7.55%), and Jim Montgomery (7.55%) follow. The chart includes many other NHL coaches with smaller percentages and a note listing additional coaches who received 0.94% each. Survey was conducted from Dec. 20, 2024, to Feb. 2, 2025.

I guess the one thing in my mind is that I don’t actually know if Bednar is a really good coach. The Athletic published their players poll for the season and when asked what coach would you want to play for, Bednar received just one vote. That was pretty eye opening to see

So to me the cup run is looking like the outlier, and I guess I ask how long do you keep watching the same thing before trying something else?

The bigger context is important, which probably underscores why this R1 exit is so deflating. They’re never going to be as healthy as they were this off-season.

It’s not cup or bust every year, but it’d be nice to at least see a WCF with this squad. R1 and R2 exits arent cutting it

I’m hurting this morning, Evan. That cup feels so far away after these brutal early round losses.

I don’t know if I’m in the fire Bednar camp or not yet but I do know that I don’t want to keep watching the same thing.

R1, R2, R1 exits the last three years isn’t good enough for a team that’s supposed to be competing for championships.

I absolutely hate a skater on the PK playing without a stick. I will die on the hill that you’re better off skating back to the bench for 5 seconds out of the zone than you are without a stick for any duration

Necas was bad. Really bad.

We know Mack and Makar can flip the switch.

Malinski looked like he was ready for playoff hockey.

Scratch Drouin in Game 4.

Drop Necas a line.

Landy looked good. He’ll get better.

Hope that Colton can go but if not dress Vesey.

Avs win game 4
