His only ways out as far as I can see are a) surrender to Iranian demands (and force Israel to do the same), or b) launch a ground invasion to take and hold Iran to the extent that the U.S. can assure the world that passage through the Strait of Hormuz is safe and predictable. Neither is realistic.
