Wanted to thank smokemonster for showing me this trick. He made a post about Nivea hand cream helping with gummy plastics and rubbers. It worked with some ibm laptops and tried it again today. Panasonic 3do controller cable was getting gummy and it seems to have neutralized it

A bit of computer history here. This is known as the lawsuit edition commodore joystick. Due to it's similarity to Atari's 2600 joystick they sued commodore and won.
