Time to bring out some bird wizards.... Oko and Nadu friends forever???
Was listening to the @eternaldurdles.bsky.social podcast where they hypothesised the 'premier' format with the theme of 'tested and true'. An idea I had for the banned list, in the theme: any card banned in its standard format is also banned in 'premier'. no idea what this would look like
If it looks like I swore on magic online, its because 'lmao' is considered a swear word 😔. I'm not flaming I promise, mtgo pls...
CA-CAW!!!!!!
Worth noting as well that if graveyard decks get taken down a notch (or three, hopefully), sideboards will open up to answering other things they are too pressured to atm, like cori steel cutter.
Daily prayer for wizards to ban even half as agressively as they print 🙏
I might argue that cards like brainstorm, dark ritual, and ancient tomb are also objectively 'design mistakes.'
I'm ok with taking a more agressive approach to bans but I think just being a 'design mistake' alone should not be sufficient to ban in a format like legacy.
See how hermit druid gives you a whole turn to kill it or prepare before it goes off? Very mindful. Very Demure.
I've been playing non-GSZ decks in 2025 to change things up, and this is probably my favourite answer I've found in UWx shells to Mycospawn 🥽
Keeping up to speed with Eldrazi isn't easy, but TR has been impressive

One possible UG hermit druid decklist, probably not the best one. Playing narcomoeba + dread return + thassas oracle to win; force, daze, cantrips, a small zenith package, wasteland, 2 tamiyo, 2 legolas.
Hermit Druid (G), Summon Druid: (GT): Reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a basic land card. Put that card into your hand and put all other revealed cards into your graveyard.
Wizards pls unban Hermit Druid it will be fine I promise 🥺🥺🥺
Picked this up today, played a few matches and haven't lost a game so far. Deck feels really strong against what ppl are doing rn! Exarch + ring is busto.
Only downside is this might be more anoying to execute on mtgo than Nadu with the way exarch triggers work 😭. Speedrunning my way to RSI.
Shows Cephalid Breakfast Decklist, trophy, and match history. G1: 2-0 vs Bant Ephemerate Pile; G2: 2-1 vs Merfolk; G3: 2-1 vs Bant Infect; G4: 2-0 vs UB Tempo (maybe?); G5: 2-0 vs UR Delver
Trophy with Cephalid Breakfast!!!!!
Deck felt great, not sure of the sideboard at all yet.
Ignore the caution tape boarders I started the league when the all access tokens still worked.
Pioneer Metagame in the Last 7 Days: Rakdos Midrange 30.8%; Rakdos Aggro 10.5%; Rakdos Prowess 9.8%;
What the fatal push is going on in Pioneer right now. Thought about picking it back up but maybe I'll stick to Legacy....
I want to play in more paper events this year!
Vintage Magic: The Gathering RARE available.
Found in old bedroom.
Don’t lowball me, I know what I have.
Thankful for at least a few more months to click nomads -> nadu until I get carpal tunnel

Charisma (UUU) - Enchant Creature: Whenever enchanted creature deals damage to a creature, you control that creature as long as Charisma remains in play.
Sometimes they ritual -> spy and I never cast another spell.
Sometimes they blood moon and I never cast another spell.
Sometimes they mycospawn and I never cast another spell.
Sometimes they daze -> wasteland and I never cast another spell.
Thats why god gave me 3 games, basics and force of will 🤭
I come back to these two matches like, once a year minimum.
Infect vs Miracles in old Legacy. Specifically any match btw Reid Duke and Tom Ross.
A playset of Glistener Elf cards, signed by the artist in multicolor ink. Glistener Elf (G) Creature - <Phyrexian> Elf Warrior: Infect, 1/1.
Any excuse to show off my set of Glistener Elf! Probably my most played by a fair margin. Still waiting on an infect comeback in legacy 🥺.
For the record, I would prefer them to keep the current ban schedule and philosophy, and be more measured with printings. I think given the profit incentives, its more likely for them to change the ban philosophy. In the meantime, we can all bow to our bird overlord for the next few months... (4/4)
Until wizards changes their approach to at least one of these things, I doubt we will ever get to a place where bans aren't needed every update. If they plan on another pushed MH/Lotr like set next summer, then that will just bury the problems we still have left from MH3. (3/4)
If they take a slow and cautious ban approach, and in the meanwhile print a bunch of new pushed cards, the format never has a chance to get back to a healthy place. (2/4)
I think that the problem is the combination of a break-neck release schedule with pushed cards and an extremely slow and cautious ban philosophy. (1/4)
My hope is that the removal of frog and bauble will open the format up to some strategies and sideboard space that can hopefully keep the decks we know are going to be strong in check, but my fear is that the format will look very much the same with nadu, UB, and fleshraker decks dominating. (3/3)
