also check out the free synth Vital, it's wildly powerful, kinda a one stop shop for most synthesis needs & very intuitive once u get the feel

start w whatever u can get for free. garage band, reaper, or if u can "find" a copy of ableton live suite, bitwig, logic pro, fl studio

bitwig is pretty cool w/ how nice & tidy the ui is. lot less imposing than others. once u get a feel for what ur workflow is it'll be easy to pick the right one
