As we approached LGBT+ Labour’s 50th anniversary, I’m not sure we expected to have such a venue to host a celebration! Thanks to the PM for popping up to cut the cake but also to our speakers for highlighting the progress Labour Government’s have made for LGBT+ rights, since we were founded in 1975.

Fantastic @labouryimby.bsky.social panel at South East Regional Conference

Regenerating our industry heartland in the South East is often forgotten on a national level but we need to focus on it to deliver growth and the homes we need

New rail link, big tech sector — time to move to Milton Keynes? The city straddling the Oxford-Cambridge corridor believes its forward-looking ethos will draw skilled people from both university cities

The Sunday Times is right—Milton Keynes is one of the most exciting and innovative places in the Oxford-Cambridge Arc. A city built for growth, with the infrastructure, ambition, and economic strength to lead the UK’s next phase of development.

The Children’s Wellbeing & Schools Bill is the biggest reform to child protection in a decade.

The Tories might talk about fixing education & safeguarding, but they had 14 years to do it.

It's time for them to stop chasing the populist bandwagon and focus on making change for the better.

Keir Starmer: I will not let our NHS die — this is my prescription This new year I am resolved to reverse the decline and make the health service fit for the future

A new NHS Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) opened on Sheppey just before Christmas.

This means the PM’s announcement today about streamlining access to CDCs for patients, will have a big positive impact on getting waiting times down round here. Very good to see.

The government’s white paper on devolution today is a welcome step.

It removes yet more bottlenecks in the planning system.

As housing is approved at the local level, fixing local government is key to improving the supply of housing.

The bloke was furious, pulled away and started shouting at John again, only for his girlfriend to pull him away.

Johns legacy as a climate negotiator, bruiser and someone who helped deliver a transformative Labour Government can never be forgotten.

A guy in a tracksuit starting shouting abuse at him and Prescott told him to come over, which he did.

Prescott then put his arm round him, started poking him and said “This is the type of bloke that’s the problem and we need tough measures to deal with this type of person”

The one enduring memory I have of John Prescott was volunteering on his Police and Crime Commissioner campaign at Uni nearly 15 years ago.

Bunch of us were in Hull town centre and Prescott was speaking on a microphone without many people listening.

Great to be at full council in Tower Hamlets - all the Aspire Cllr’s being passed speeches and questions from Lutfars office is hilarious, he can’t trust his own group - no wonder he doesn’t give them any power

Cowardly and dishonest position from Momentum. Any starting point to negotiation has to be an end to occupation.

Russia won't accept that and has said so. Because it's trying to occupy Ukrainian land and dominate its people.

For Russia, this is a colonial war.
