This week I co-hosted a discussion with local volunteer fire fighters, the Pennsylvania Fire Commissioner, and local elected officials. My colleagues in the state House and Senate learned more about challenges facing volunteers and ideas to improve the fire service.

Earlier this year, we unexpectedly lost a community servant, Commander Jake Bradich of VFW Post 914 “The Intrepid” in West Mifflin.

It was a busy week in Harrisburg! I had the opportunity serve as the minority chair of our first Finance Committee meeting, attend a briefing with the Nuclear Caucus, and I always try to make time to meet with constituents visiting our beautiful state Capitol!

Earlier today in Harrisburg, we kicked off our efforts to pass laws that protect animals across the state and were even joined by some of four-legged friends from the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area! 🐾

I’m excited to chair the Pennsylvania Animal Protection caucus this year alongside @repshusterman.bsky.social. The Animal Protection caucus is bipartisan and the largest issue caucus in the legislature.

It was a packed house at the Allegheny County EMS Forum this morning! Harrisburg could be doing much more for our vital EMS services so it was help to hear about their most pressing needs.

A total of $16,944,691 in funding for organizations in Allegheny County was announced this week, including $9,511,747 for agencies serving the 45th District, from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) for anti-violence community organizations.
