2 weeks ago in class we learned about the tragic 2014 landslide in Oso, Washington that claimed 43 innocent lives.

It was vital for authorities to listen to #geoscientists and experts whose warnings went ignored for decades. If we don't heed scientists' warnings, we will suffer fatal consequences.

I was just there in August! I really appreciated the indigenous focus in the visitor center. I bought one of my favorite books of the year 1491 by Charles C Mann. That area of Ohio is littered with cool sites. Incredible trip!
