Trump’s attack on Iran and the plot against your vote Donald Trump is planning to use his attack on Iran to justify a power grab over voting in the 2026 midterms.

Donald Trump is planning to use his attack on Iran to justify a power grab over voting in the 2026 midterms. The fact that the attack violates the Constitution won’t stop him from trying. It is our job to expose this plot and ensure that it does not succeed. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/trum...

Did You Know? When students write a short summary about a challenging text in their own words, they vastly outperform students who read a summary of the text provided by a teacher.

In a 2021 study, students who wrote short explanations after learning about greenhouse gases outscored their peers by 49% on a follow-up test of comprehension. To boost engagement, you can also ask them to write a tweet, text, or a brief television script.

How Declining Enrollments Can Become An Opportunity For School Transformation While enrollment declines provide a real challenge, the response can be transformative if districts use them as an opportunity to reimagine schools.

A bad President, for
instance, has the power to do what? What can he not do? If he wanted to
revolutionize this government, he could easily do it with this ponderous
power; it would be an auxiliary power. He could cry “havoc, and let slip the
dogs of war,”29 and say to the conspirators: “I am with you. If you
succeed, all is well. If you fail, I will interpose the shield of my pardon, and
you are safe. If your property is taken away from you by Congress, I will
pardon and restore your property. Go on and revolutionize the government;
I will stand by you.” The bad man will say or might say this. I am not sure
but we have got a man now who comes very near saying it. Let us have done
with this pardoning power. We have had enough of this. Pardoning! How
inexpressibly base have been the uses made by this power—this beneficent
power. It has been that with which a treacherous President has trafficked.
He has made it the means of securing adherents to himself instead of
securing allegiance to the government.

very fun to read frederick douglass accurately describe the problem with the pardon power in 1867

imagine if showing evidence of learning and using inquiry competencies was an end in mind for assessing and reporting progress- consider how different teaching and learning would be. #Edusky

Our LA team has been rewriting our curriculum using Heidi Hayes Jacob's storyboarding approach.
Today, an LA teacher showed me how she's using storyboards for her lesson plans, saying “At a glance, you can see what my class is like. Lesson plans make so much more sense this way.”

It’s a recalibration of economic control.

Oligarchs don’t live paycheck to paycheck. They have the capital to buy market dips and recoup faster, acquiring more assets at fire sale prices along the way.

When the dust finally settles, they will own more.

The rest of us will own less. A lot less.

reading why the very act of trying to get a dyslexic, ADHD kid to square with the normative expectations of school / to learn how to cram their square peg persona into a round hole setting is at odds w human-valued learning

I really need to go to bed but I just keep coming back to the utter and abject failure of imagination that exists in this particular discourse about learning & schooling. My god, people, schooling and learning can look like ten thousand different things and all be good and right and effective!

From a slightly different lens than the classroom, as a member of our district level Career & Technical Education dept. I look for opportunities to engage students w/ possible barriers to CTE programming, in addition career-focused learning experiences - like our CTE summer academy. #CareerEducation
