Trent Reznor needs to bring this guy on a NIN concert stage.
Finally, my Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego X the Prisoner concept!
I lived overseas in 2020 and had coworkers ask me about how American elections worked. They stared at me like I have lobsters crawling out of my head when I explained the Electoral College. And their disgust when I explained why it was there in the first place.
Hey, have you ever seen Paprika? No?
Then turn on your ad-blocker and turn off your lights and go nuts.

Comic of the beetle from the cover of Massive Attack's "Mezzanine" meeting the crab from the cover of The Prodigy's "Fat of the Land".
Hi this joke is for me
It's throwing yourself at the ground and missing. Duh.
Second choice: Satoshi Kon's Paprika
Aliens, but only if I could see it for the first time in a movie theater.
Stage managers. What you’re looking for is stage managers
Okay, not 100%, but...
George Lucas deliberately tanked the prequels to kill Star Wars, a franchise that ruined his life because its wild success killed his shot at ever making weird (THX-1138) or down-home heartfelt (American Graffiti) films again.
Hey, if your fryer is aromantic that's cool. Good on 'em.
Star Trek The Original Series scene. We're in a CORRIDOR! A room door is open, and we see two crewmen spilling out into the hallway in red and blue uniforms. They are otherwise indecipherable tho because they are entirely enveloped in a big cloud of smoke. It's pouring out all around them and into the hallway area, like there's a Phish concert in there. Closed caption reads, "[COUGHING]"
interesting recession indicator I just spotted: the year is 2026, and the recession began in 2007 and at no point did it meaningfully abate for the vast, vast majority of people
I have to believe she knew how much you loved her every day, and in her own way she loved you in return.
Still three weeks left to get your submissions in! I've already gotten a many responses which is good, but unfortunately they echo what I feared (and sadly expected): Black Game Developers are being hit harder on practically *all* fronts despite making up a smaller portion of the industry.
All jokes aside, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego is ripe for a gaming comeback. I would giggle myself sick to work on a reboot of this.
what more can be said
The thing I am getting from this is that human beings can run a half-marathon in an hour which is fucking amazing, hurrah human beings
tried rewatching Captain Marvel tonight, mostly because I needed something to do my nails in front of, and I just turned it off because it's really boring? had a similar experience with the second Guardians a few months ago - have I actually aged or were we just under a weird MCU spell for a decade?
Open up notepad or a sticky note and just start banging stuff out. All the ideas. No form. Just get it down. Find something that hooks YOU and build around it, like grit becoming a pearl. You don't have to start at the beginning. In fact, don't. Just find that image/emotion in your head and build.
Two hooded figures with lamps approach a moonlit, isolated cottage. A woman answers the door. We have come for the child, says the hooded figure So soon? she asks It is time, says the hooded figure. The woman is distraught. We should never have got him a library card! What is done cannot be undone, says the hooded figure We couldn’t see the harm! We just wanted him to enjoy reading! For most, it ends there, says the hooded figure, turning away and walking into the wilderness Oh lord, What have I done! says the woman, the child walks past her and out into the darkness with them. Do not cry mother. I am a writer now.

In a 1991 documentary that Trump suppressed, Christopher Reeve comments on Donald Trump:

A series of tiny but powerful whistles draped over a white bubble pack envelope.
Thank you, @moryan.bsky.social, for the rad whistles. Team Cylon/Harley Quinn is ready to draw attention to fascist chucklefucks.
