There honestly isn't enough love for the "fun spinster aunt." Just like some people knew they wanted to be a mom/dad even as a child, I knew this was my calling. We're genuinely an important part of the family unit ecosystem and I'm tired of society pretending we aren't!!

In all my experience, it is the inclusion of multiple people with different lived experiences working together that makes the biggest difference, not individuals overworking themselves to try and understand every single possible accessibility feature or need on all our behalf 2/2

Adding to this - it's okay if you don't know everything. Someone with lived experience with one disability doesn't automatically understand all disabilities, and it can be incredibly useful to have lots of people with different focuses in what they deal with, as well as some general knowledge 1/2

Remember it isn't what you know that makes you important - it's how you know it and how you communicate it.

Anyone can learn game accessibility, the method of conveying that to devs is key.

If you're disabled, being disabled doesn't make you unique - how you tell your story and experience does.

If you want full time or freelance work in game accessibility you need to be obvious.

People looking for future hires, either full time or freelance are always keeping aware of names, skillsets, expertise to fill gaps in their knowledge.

You have to be present or you'll miss out on opportunities.
