Openclaw is part of this disruption because it makes using OSS models like GLM-5 and Kimi K.2.5, which are 20% of the cost for 80% of the performance, trivial.
I really thought Apple would be the one to create a local OS level agent, and presumed they'd silo it to an Apple subscription of some kind. That an FOSS solution beat them to it to disrupt everything is a surprise to me. But man am I here for it.
Anthropic and now Google are terrified of OpenClaw because it breaks their silo. They've worked hard, and have been subsidizing costs deeply just to lock you into their single silo.
A local agent like OpenClaw that seamlessly carries context between providers is a nightmare.
