Most interactions I see re: AI accelerationism online are rooted in either: the pro-AI person is operating from a place of fear ("if I don't do this and the snake oil salesman is right, I will lose everything") or a place of greed ("if I can con more people into doing this I will be rich.")

I ended up with a Rega Planar 2 but recommend the P1 for a good enthusiast first turntable, upgradable components but simple and low fuss setup, and doesn’t look like a toy. www.rega.co.uk/products/tur...
You are going to end up on the slippery slope towards fully analog signal chains, Rob. I am speaking from experience.
Every year (maybe every quarter) there is a story that forces non-marketing and social media people to reckon with the forces that control the cultural conversations and this is the story du jour apparently. This is the way it has worked for 10+ years.
Don't they know you can just post on Bluesky and people will find every typo and error for free?
You cannot kill an idea
Payola by any other name wouldn't smell as sweet. The only metric that matters is ROI. If the labels "feel" like its working, then it is. Geese is the worst test case because the album is good and was a critical darling. They put on a good live show. The streams are secondary.
It's ad fraud all the way down, Ryan
The thing I have been turning over in my head for months is that to get ahead in whatever it is you do, you have to self promote, and to self promote well you have to figure out content creation and The Algorithm.
Every job is content creation/every industry is marketing now (but for a band to "make it big" the music still has to be good.)
Tech angle on a marketing story, many such cases
For all of you who celebrate Avril 14th Day, I assembled a genre-bending ambient MEGAMIX.
Spanning from soft jazz and shoegaze to jungle and chiptune, each of the 39 tracks is Avril 14th, just like every day should be.

Yeah I currently have a set of old Advent speakers that don't fit them, but at least on the receiver end (where at least in my set up, more likely to be messing with cables or have people standing closer to) felt safer about having that extra step between.
I had something similar happen years ago during a party and have basically sworn by using banana plugs (at least on the receiver side, speaker side if supported) ever since www.monoprice.com/product?p_id...
It is 2011, there is trouble in the Middle East and I am listening to new Wu Lyf.

I finally remembered to use the app and have discovered a White-throated Sparrow has nested outside my bedroom window so I have been waking up (early) to this sound for the last few days www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/White-...
But your flag decal won't get you
Into Heaven any more.
They're already overcrowded
From your dirty little war.
Now Jesus don't like killin'
No matter what the reason's for,
And your flag decal won't get you
Into Heaven any more.

On one screen writing an ad about cool jackets, on my other screen writing messaging to clients that we should probably stop posting from this evening through tomorrow.
My father literally texted the family group chat earlier asking who had his LP

We're in a race to the first "PAIN AT THE PUMP" newspaper A1 shot aren't we?
They're saying its "a movie designed in a lab for when you're off an edible on an airplane" as if there wasn't a market for that??
"TBPN will remain editorially independent, retaining control over its programming, editorial decisions, guest selection and production schedule, OpenAI said."
Do you think any of them have said "going moon mode?"
