When did #ValentinesDay become this thing where I carry bags of gifts to school? All my daughter's friends and classmates HAVE to get a gift.

I also find that readers on Kindle unlimited tend to drop off after chapter one. It totally makes sense, I know from every other media that you capture your audience at the beginning! But of course I took my sweet time getting to the action in my own book here..

The First Gens is my first novel, so definitely a learning moment. The first two chapters are super detailed world building and I thought they were great. The feedback is basically "yeah that's fine, but the book starts in chapter 3..."
