My doctor is referring me to a specialist in Orlando, possibly surgery in the somewhat near future.

Also, I'm going back to a therapist and trying someone new.

every bit of this I 100% agree with. I also never expect a hangout to turn 😏. if I had it in me to come out, I'd probably work on my music library management while you did your projects. I love that. I hate that I have been so beat down that I just shut down and go to bed after work.

There's just so much going on and I'm not able to do anything about a majority of it but get through it. I just don't often like to talk about this stuff publicly but I feel a general idea of where life has been might help friends who might be worried about me acting distracted or off. ty

thank you. i need friends. I just also need the mental bandwidth and energy to go see them, and I just haven't. I come home and try to play a game and end up just laying in bed for hours til I sleep. Not every day is this way, but when I let myself think about how helpless I feel, it gets hard.

In the past few months:

My mom was kicked out of her home
My friend of 12 years passed away
I've had persisting GI issues and bleeding (appointment tomorrow)
My memory has been noticeably off

I feel so isolated and overwhelmed.

like I get the reason why modern games get patches constantly but low-key, my retro gamer is still fond of the memories that games released, and that was the game, bugs and all. It really established a silent charm idk.

RN i'm replaying the RE remakes, and the originals that I loved just as much.

The killer for me is the realization that one day, those servers will die, and all I'll have to take with me are the friends I made while playing it

I'm just too busy and overwhelmed, and I enjoyed my time with live games. I don't care to watch higher-ups destroy our trust and the game I once loved

I haven't logged into that game since Feb 21st. Granted some reasons were due to life, loss of a friend, and work/social pressures.

I've since been spending more time with music making, my dog, my partner, and the other stuff I've ignored thru tolerating a game I loved rather than enjoying it.

Live service games that don't respect our busy lives with any level of transparency have made me realize that my love for gaming in general has taken a silent hit

I've finally been enjoying games again, namely single player narratives.
