Happy 4/20 to all you potheads!
Lots of people genuinely thought that mass incarceration would disappear overnight with the decriminalization of weed. I told y'all it wouldn't.
People believed it would go away because they thought that Black people smoke more weed.
But... white people smoke more🤷🏿♂️

Two hooded figures with lamps approach a moonlit, isolated cottage. A woman answers the door. We have come for the child, says the hooded figure So soon? she asks It is time, says the hooded figure. The woman is distraught. We should never have got him a library card! What is done cannot be undone, says the hooded figure We couldn’t see the harm! We just wanted him to enjoy reading! For most, it ends there, says the hooded figure, turning away and walking into the wilderness Oh lord, What have I done! says the woman, the child walks past her and out into the darkness with them. Do not cry mother. I am a writer now.

Pancreatic cancer mRNA vaccine shows lasting results in an early trial - NBC News
Don’t tell the MAGAt’s that a mRNA vaccine is proving to be very EFFECTIVE in preventing PANCREATIC CANCER. I wonder if they’ll scream about this mRNA VACCINE? 💉 mRNA TECHNOLOGY is GROUNDBREAKING SCIENCE in action
I spent all my spoons for the day making a big fancy brunch. Worth it!
I loved The Lion in Winter growing up because the story is basically “Why do my kids hate me when I don’t let them have anything I had when they were my age because I’m not done with them yet?” 😅
I feel upset because it didn’t have to be this way. We could have accepted that we are responsible for maintaining a community and pushed back on evil capitalist policies but we didn’t.
I am also kind of annoyed how much stuff is locked behind parental participation. This has only gotten worse. I keep hearing stories about how parents have to pay thousands of dollars and drive their kids everywhere to participate in sports. Communities locked behind a paywall.
I understand that if you build a thing you’re not obligated to share it with everyone. If you form a garage band with your friends you don’t have to hold auditions for every random person. But it sucks that so much community stuff is blocked by Boomers who don’t want to share.
There are a lot of community institutions that I saw growing up that I assumed I would participate in when I was older. But the people in them wouldn’t let anyone else participate and by the time they were ready to move on everyone who was interested was gone and it just went away.
When I was a kid I assumed my community theater was like Saturday Night Live and that people would cycle in and out but the institution would persist. It was more like Monty Python. A group of people formed it for their kids, didn’t let anyone else work on it, then tore it down after they left.
I completely get that not everyone has the background in or opportunity to be exposed to classical concerts, operas, symphonies, plays, etc, but it really bugs me that people don’t consider performers in their audience behavior.
These people worked very hard to entertain you. Be kind.
The USA is going to have to seize all of the Trumpstain Regime's stolen wealth to pay for rebuilding the country, once they are taken out of power.
Our current batch of pugs don’t like to sleep with us. I didn’t think that was possible and it happened twice. I miss my bed pugs.
I have a queen size bed.
I am single.
I have a 20lbs toy breed dog.
Why (and how?) am I laying on the very edge of the bed and the pug has the entire rest of the bed??
If you're a small indie game dev, don't try to be too professional. Professionalism only matters when you've hit the mainstream.
First, you need to appeal to people who mainly play indie games. These people like devs to be human and interesting.
You can attract people for you, not just your game.
I’m watching my cake like a hawk because the toothpick said it was done and I am waiting to see if the toothpick is a liar and the middle sinks into a well of half baked goo.

I want to be able to get on a train from Georgia to any other state in the country.
Why don’t people run on trains? Doesn’t everybody want trains?
Lowkey the best vehicle.
Bucky is the Good Witch of the Midwest.
I was a consultant at an educational software company a few years ago. They were making a “game” where you do a bunch of worksheets to earn tokens to play real games in an arcade for a minute. I asked why they didn’t just make learning fun and they laughed at me and said it wasn’t possible. 😭
Imagine if edutainment game genre didn't peak in the early 90s. Video games have nearly limitless potential that has barely been explored.
The plans include a temporary station near Wisconsin's state Capitol and initial twice-daily service to Milwaukee, with future expansion expected.
Cool! We are having a date night downtown next week before I have my kidney stone surgery. I will have to make a pilgrimage to this place. I miss all the tea places I used to go. 😭
Scheduling really is the final boss of tabletop role playing games.
Same with me and my lap pugs.
Biking, camping, hanging out with friends who also have boys and let them rough house…
Their mom is one of those “I am glad I had boys because I don’t like girl stuff” people. Same with my mother in law. They all think I am weird with my tea sets and handmade quilts and American Girl dolls.
I like the idea of the STEM stuff. It is just that the parents never really treated the kids like they were kids, so they turn their noses up at anything made for kids. It has to be something for adults. I don’t know their reading level so I am uncertain about electronics or programming stuff.
Their mom does wood work and that is a good possibility. Thanks!
I’m not certain. Everything I see about the kids says they live on screens. A lot of people get Roblox cards for gifts which isn’t an option. To be interested in models means being interested in the thing they’re modeling and I don’t know if kids care about cars/ships/planes/etc…
