I’ve re-read ILL FEELINGS so many times, it was a bit of a lightbulb moment for me
It showed me how we can write about health, bodies and families. Compassionate and critical, it was fluid and lucid in its form and writing, which was astonishing considering its content.

This only makes me think more about the value of writing and writers in our current world

🫶 love is a verb
Throughout Lucy’s work, I – loved – seeing her depictions of acts love and care. Lucy, as she suggests to here, depicts and demonstrates how love can be depicted as gestures.
