I’ve re-read ILL FEELINGS so many times, it was a bit of a lightbulb moment for me

It showed me how we can write about health, bodies and families. Compassionate and critical, it was fluid and lucid in its form and writing, which was astonishing considering its content.

💥It’s true, these days misunderstandings can really blow our life apart

But for Camille Bordas, misunderstandings between her characters, drive plot, humour and even self-discovery

This only makes me think more about the value of writing and writers in our current world

Having a bit of a sort and came across a lot of old reviews and pieces I’d filed

We never stop learning. Every book, podcast, interview, is a refinement.

Be assured, it means your favourite literary podcast comes from a space and approach of deep reading and learning and passion.

Here’s also a stack of the books books that I used for my latest episode with Lucy Caldwell. I went through a lot of e-copies too!

☀️It seems fitting that on daylight savings time we remind ourselves of a writer so interested in the light and the dark.

🫶 love is a verb

Throughout Lucy’s work, I – loved – seeing her depictions of acts love and care. Lucy, as she suggests to here, depicts and demonstrates how love can be depicted as gestures.
