I've started using Peter for these sort of things because of the surprising number of people who now think "pete" is two syllables

Oh great, this year's calculated censorship-debate-bait has dropped and is already fuckin tedious before I've heard it.

From what I can remember the Brighton Belles punchline cut-and-pastes were so unsubtle they sometimes bordered on surreal. Just cross out Johnny Carson and put Terry Wogan, it's the same thing!

On the one hand publishing televote volumes makes a handy guide on which ones are cheapest to buy, but on the other, it's happening so much anyway may as well blow the thing up and restart with new rules.

Yeah for proper context I want a breakdown, in each country's televote, of the average number of votes-per-caller for each country receiving. If the high point receivers are getting way higher proportion of x20 per phone than the rest, that's tangible evidence 20 is a problem.

Definitive 80s schlager, a style of music that in the UK would mainly get used for daytime TV show themes. Can just imagine it leading in to Alan Tichmarsh coming on to interview Anneka Rice.

Actually surprised we didn't get a few more cameos but the name checks for Alpha Centauri and the Zygons were welcome.

This prompted me to go to the current Offical Chart and it's remarkable how much stuff from the past 10-20 years is knocking around. Mr bloody Brightside! No ESC in today's top 100 though.

It's weird when I listen to a song in Finish and/or German during the day and don't understand a word, when I know I was singing along perfectly at 3am in EuroClub

This is the part of Ernie (The Fastest Milkman In The West) that Australia should have also incorporated.

Interesting to have two songs in the Eurovision final that mention spaghetti but neither of them is the Italian entry.
I didn't say VERY interesting.

"Got it! An upside down chandelier!"
'...and then?'
"They walk around it. There is also a small screen."
'Surrounded by escalating pyro, to show them emerging from the chaos, yes?'
"Sigh, OK, a pyro."

Odd having a semifinal where only one competitor, Serbia, has a name that begins with a letter from the second half of the alphabet
