Unfortunately the current view on assault in schools is that it is an unmet need & therefore the teacher is always at fault for not handling things differently. Other children are inevitably drawn in with “don’t XXXXX or they’ll get upset & hurt you” so they feel to blame. More staff are needed.

It is the teacher’s job to understand the behaviour but it is nobody’s job to be assaulted, especially not girls.

Teachers being 'kicked and strangled' by pupils say ‘I no longer like my profession’ Scottish teachers speak out over violence in schools saying "I no longer like my profession".

"In the classroom environment, I saw girls being conditioned to 'understand' boys who were being violent and being told to show compassion and forgiveness."
