🌍 Our food system is pushing planetary boundaries beyond safe limits.
📢 Prof. @profpaulbehrens.bsky.social warns of the major drivers of climate and biodiversity loss—and how impacts are arriving faster than expected. We need rapid action now.

🌍 Tom Rivett-Carnac—Former political strategist, UNFCCC: “There's always crises, there's always challenges. The task for world leaders is to say: if we were to lose half of the world's arable land, all of today's issues would be dwarfed by what follows. This is a leadership moment—it's on them.”
🛢️ Rachel Reeves may be keen to ‘exploit’ the North Sea, but are her voters?
⚡ Labour were elected on a promise of a clean energy revolution—turning back now is a betrayal not just of the public, but of Britain’s future.

Extraordinary that nowhere in an article on resilience did PM find space to include the growing threat posed to UK security by the dramatic decline in the health of nature around the world - especially since his own intelligence chiefs have recently spelt it out for him in no uncertain terms 👇

5 people in front of Teignmouth war memorial, with a big banner saying we need to talk about the climate cross, each of us carting a placard. Blue sky above and Luders coffee/ tea shop behind.
And here we are: not very many passers by to talk with today - it was cold and windy - but it’s great that every week we meet, catch up and share ideas including how to support @zero-hour.bsky.social Climate & Nature Bill.
🛢️ With oil and gas still dominating the headlines, Labour must stay united and double down on clean energy.
📣 As Dr Amy McDonnell—Co-Director, Zero Hour—makes clear: more North Sea drilling won’t cut bills, it risks our clean energy future.

Nature is in unprecedented decline and we're currently unprepared to deal with the consequences. We need action, not more dither and delay.
This Parliament has the chance to act to preserve and protect our natural environment, and we must act, good intentions are not enough.
🌍 Protecting people should be the first duty of any Government. At present, the UK is deeply unprepared for the increasing threat of floods, droughts, wildfires and food shortages.
The cross-party CNCC will continue to urge the Government to deliver, before it's too late.

🚨 BREAKING 🚨
We're proud to be among the 40 UK orgs and unions urging the Prime Minister to tax excess profits of energy, banking and defence sectors—set for bumper paydays from the US-Israeli war on Iran—to help with the cost of living pressures.

🌿 @chrishinchliff.bsky.social—Vice-Chair, CNCC: “It is high time that nature breakdown and climate change are recognised across Whitehall as a national security issue, with a coordinated, cross-government response to the global threats we face.”

Nearly TWO MILLION hours of sewage spills in England last year. A disgrace.
We're paying to fix the pipes through bill hikes, but they're still extracting billions.
That's why we need public ownership. So we can make the weather rather than have criminal companies rely on it.

💧 A new water law is coming. Ministers know this law is a once-in-a-generation chance to clean up our rivers, lakes and seas but Government proposals don’t match the scale of the water crisis—yet.
We need a Water Reform Bill to:
👉 Stop the pollution
👉 Fix the water system
👉 And restore nature
📣 @simonforstroud.bsky.social—Vice-Chair, Climate and Nature Crisis Caucus—is right. The Government should seize this opportunity to bring down bills and break Britain’s reliance on fossil fuels once and for all.

🚨 The climate and nature crisis is a national security threat—and it’s time we start treating it as one.
🏡 We must rethink how we define national security to reduce energy bills, protect food security, and safeguard homes from flooding.

We’re one step closer to nature targets that will make a huge difference for Scotland’s wildlife and wild places.
The Scottish Government needs to set these targets ASAP to save nature.
