Godzilla Minus One. Godzilla has such a strong presence, but it isn't just the cinematography or CGI that gives it that, the weight of the emotional journey is what does it. A bit incredible how well the final scene is used to support its message.

Alien. Probably the most basic concept for a "monster in the house," but I was surprised by how well it holds up, I was working out when I watched the movie but had to stop because of how tense the final escape sequence is, it's shot so well that it's hard to believe how old it is.

I'll make a media thread this 2026 year
yes twitter artist come to bsky no matter where you run you cannot hide from my follow
It’s a perfect review for me, as someone who doesn’t like candy everything described goes against my taste, but I can easily see how the review also describes the candy enjoyer’s perspective, where everything listed is a plus for them.
it's too big, we're too small
oh and zelda's the protagonist this time but she has no personality and never talks so she might as well actually be Link because despite this being a new direction they dont actually feel like pursuing what that means
it has traditional dungeons this time but I can't remember any of them, it goes in a new direction but it's so insecure about it that there's a button that lets you play the game like any other zelda.
Idrc about getting a "normal zelda" but EOW feels so hollow in a lot of ways, after taking zelda in a new direction with botw they dont really know what the series is anymore even though botw felt confident in what it wanted to be, they said they focused on story this time but it has no substance
I happened to pick up Woman of Tomorrow right before they announced the trailer for Supergirl and I'm really happy they're basing it off this story so much because I've been loving every single part of it so far, it feels like every choice made is just striking and moving.
too bad Mario kart world doesnt have anti grav anymore, mk8 used it in such innovative ways like oooo anti gravity brown sewer system
like with the way it's used to commentate on the state of America, or how it uses its multiverse or butterfly premises to tell this story really well. This show made m cherish anything that comes from this muscular and veiny man with all my heart.
Over the past year-ish Peacemaker really snuck up to become one of my favourite superheroes, the story told over the course of 1 movie and 2 seasons about how Chris's initial "Peacemaker philosophy" is entirely wrong really appeals to me,
I seventh(?) this
and then in bananza there's the rain layer where all of its inhabitants are obsessed with the weather but the abilities you get have nothing to do with it and the problems of that layer are entirely unresolved and are primarily a background element
Like comparing to Odyssey, I think the process of getting a banana often times had more depth than getting a moon in mario, but if I think about the experience as a whole it feels a bit empty. Like Mario's kingdoms are such an experience, living worlds where you interact with their unique cultures
Even with the GOTY nomination it feels like almost no one is actually talking about DK Bananza, it's like people completely forgot about it after they were finished talking about how much "hype" its ending had. I really think the game is a solid experience but doesn't have like much impact at all.
playing I'm just bumbling around the map waiting for anything to happen. The regular races reinforce what I feel, rather than interesting level design, gimmicks, or mechanics what sticks out to me the most are just the minicutscenes that play every now and then which just rely on finite shock value
I dash around City Trial with no idea of what's happening or what I'm doing and my random button mashing will occasionally result in me actually attacking someone. I'm at my most engaged when there's an event, because that gives me purpose and actually brings people together, for the rest of my time
I'm a bit surprised by how much I don't jive with Air Riders, I already knew it wasn't going to be a game for me, but playing it made my apathy grow. It feels aimless and like it's more interested in having bright things on screen than having something like mechanical depth.
what whimsy what joy get off the road

you just don't have to talk about Xbox

I really like the rumble in MKW, like the way it mimics an engine. Every time I see a staircase I drive up and down it just to feel each individual stair.

xcx ch13 done, it was pretty good, mixed on a few things but good.
