It's been a problem for so long, and sad that none of the fixes really worked out.

Oh man. So often. And as a Gen X-er who still argues with my dad (whose politics are not sucky), I get it! And also, many of us would benefit from taking a beat. Relatedly, I appreciated a lot about this essay, but it struck a similar chord for me as a reader. nymag.com/intelligence...
It's so silly given Monsanto was notorious for ghost writing. Seems to me it would be better to lay out the evidence in a transparent way rather than bother defending authorship or lack thereof.
So this interview is kind of wild, and I don't think Borgert did his "side" any favors.

Anyway if he genuinely means Zionists he sure could have made a substantive criticism of American-Israeli military policy instead of saying something that sounds like “Jews are rich and powerful and pretend to be victims”
I'm incredibly sympathetic and also young Jews, like old Jews, seem pretty open to engaging with good faith disagreement.
CCNow / Sentient Media Happy Hour at #SEJ2026
We had a great time seeing old colleagues & meeting new ones at #SEJ2026. At a challenging time for an already difficult profession, it means the world to take time, in person, to learn from and support each other. Thanks especially to all who joined CCNow & @sentientmedia.org for our happy hour!
Thanks! Ok, will try next time.
I keep reading this but am not sure I can find it 😆
You also can get *relatively* cheap Acela tix if you book far enough in advance. Of course, depends on timing, popularity of route/tix, blah blah but I've been able to get some for like $50 and they are really nice and quiet.
Or at the least, grapple with why the Bund movement did not survive. I'm not clear on what the argument is for reviving Bundism as an alternative to Zionism now.
Isa Chandra’s cauliflower leek kugel
I made this cauliflower leek kugel for second night seder! חג פסח שמח
I've still only tried the chicken, and this sounds far more promising in terms of taste.

Honestly thank god for work because I'd otherwise be fully immersed with bravoleb and momtok drama right now.
"Attendees responded with a blend of shushes"
Soooo, just like any other Jewish event then?
Oh how I wish we could return to a time when the internet was just debating the EWG Dirty Dozen list! While I think the list itself is useless, I've come to appreciate the organic label far more than I once did, and more than terms like regenerative or free-range because at least it's regulated!
I want nothing free. Frankly I’d be happy in a full-body swaddle.
Hear me out: Manischewitz spritzer and the puffs are a garnish
Many Iowans are personally affected by the state's rising and anomalous cancer rates.
The cancer rate is linked to nitrate pollution (from manure/fertilizer), pesticides, PFAS and radon, a new report finds:

#Measles update: #CDC reports the confirmed case total this year to date is 1,575 — or 69% of the number of cases in the entirety of 2025. That's up 88 from last week. 94% of the cases are parts of outbreaks. There've been 16 new outbreaks in the US in 2026. www.cdc.gov/measles/data...

Very glad to see Times of Israel cover this. If you don't already follow them, Standing Together is one group actively trying to block (as in showing up and physically blocking) settler violence, but a growing coalition would help expand their numbers.
It's also not helping, I think, that those who do appreciate it feel powerless and/or have been told not to speak out about it professionally. It's quite bleak.
Climate change may cut land suitable for grazing livestock by 1/3 to 1/2 by 2100, a new modeling study suggests, and the impacts will not be evenly distributed.
My take: wealthier countries could help by opting for more land-sparing, plant-based foods.

Direct Air Capture startups, once the darlings of climate tech, are running out of runway. I wrote about a fascinating effort to buy IP and experimental data from failing startups before their learnings are lost to time, and make it available for others to carry forward

In Bhimavaram, a massive hub for Indian shrimp exports, the continuing uncertainty has devastated the lives of women workers.
