Senate votes 52-46 to proceed to the Republican budget resolution for a bill that can grant up to $70 billion for ICE and Border Patrol, bypassing a filibuster.

We should never be turning the intelligence community on our own people. I break down the latest on the President’s domestic terrorism order, known as NSPM-7.
The war in Iran is making things spike on top of already rising prices.
I mean, of course that’s what happening. It’s been clear the whole time
Seems to me like Trump is desperately begging Iran to sign a replica of the Obama JCPOA he tore up. All for the low low price of thousands dead, global instability, high energy prices, and a toll on ships through the once-free strait of Hormuz.
No government official should make money on prediction markets based on insider information.

RAND PAUL: Well, I don't think that's true. Obeying the 4th Amendment of the Constitution shouldn't be too difficult. It's something we fought the revolution over.
Barrera said her husband said the smell of human feces in the toilet caused a fellow detainee to vomit and, in turn, created a chain of people vomiting. She said her husband is asthmatic and has not received medication to treat his condition. The lack of medicine and the stress of the overcrowded holding cell has left him short of breath and teetering on the edge of an asthma attack, Barrera said. ICE did not immediately respond to questions on April 10 about the conditions of the Mesa or Phoenix facilities. After the publication of this article, Barrera told The Arizona Republic her husband was transferred to the ICE facility at San Luis Regional Detention Center at about midnight. The San Luis Regional Detention Center is in Southwestern Arizona and has the capacity to hold 700 people.
This is horrific. A U.S. citizen describes the facility in Arizona that her husband was brought to while he waited to be put on a deportation flight. Dozens of people were crammed into tiny cells, there was a "chain of people vomiting" from filthy toilets, no medical care, and only one meal per day.

Last week, Mayor McCraight took me on a driving tour around the proposed ICE facility in Romulus. We discussed the community’s serious concerns about a detention center coming to this space.
I know that our service members up and down the chain of command know their duty and the law to refuse illegal orders. Even as the Commander-in-Chief tells the world otherwise.

Excellent piece by @peterbakernyt.bsky.social about the debate concerning President Trump's mental health, noting that even conservatives and former associates are pointing to his erratic behavior and nutty comments and raising questions about his stability. www.nytimes.com/2026/04/13/u...

Donald Trump and JD Vance, that’s who. trib.al/7q46SHh
Trump and Vance treated Hungary’s election as if it were a U.S. Senate race: Vance flew to Budapest to campaign alongside Orbán, the president told a crowd that Orbán had done “a fantastic job," and urged Hungarians on social media to back him.
