Synthesizing Pt/γ-Al2O3 materials, ubiquitous in heterogeneous catalysis, with well-defined Pt nuclearity remains challenging. In this work, we demonstrate how SOMC can be employed to tune cluster size down to single atoms.

Congrats to Domenico on the successful defense of his PhD! 🎉His work focused on advancing the molecular understanding of SACs and clusters using solid-state NMR and DFT calculations.
Many thanks to Professors G. Pacchioni and B. Chaudret for serving as examiners.
It was also an honor to welcome Professor O. Eisenstein— a pioneer in the use of NMR computations to understand organometallic catalysts and a long-standing collaborator— to the group on the same day!

The group celebrated Christophe election to the French Academy of Science by gifting him a sword! Albeit a less traditional one than usually done ⚔️
Congratulations to Christophe who has just been appointed as a member of the Académie des Sciences for his work on surfaces and interfaces of functional materials and heterogeneous catalysts. He joins an outstanding group of scientists across disciplines, recognised through their appointments.
