Today the House of Commons voted down Bill C-233, the No More Loopholes Act, legislation that would have closed a major loophole that allows Canadian military exports to reach Israel through the United States without permits, oversight, or human-rights review.

Rural Municipalities of Alberta have been dealing with the issue of unpaid taxes from energy companies for years.
They told CBC News there is now about $253 million in unpaid taxes reported provincewide.

Overall inflation rate came in at 2.2 per cent. But that rate has been largely outpaced by food since August 2024, and in November it rose 4.7 per cent compared to this time last year.
