It was your response to Mr. Abrego Garcia's unjust deportation and imprisonment that first earned you my respect.

Thank you for continuing to care, Senator Van Hollen. You make me proud.

Where did you argue that farmers don't deserve respect?

Read your first comment. Was that respectful?

Also, you weren't "simply pointing out that farmers are taken care of with subsidies," you were accusing them of supporting trafficking and exploitation, and saying they got what they voted for.

I don't think you understand what a subsidy is.

And you made your explanation, and I pointed out why it is unrelated to my point. It contained some of the same words, that doesn't make it a response.

Hospitals.....*ARE* subsidized.

In fact, I think they should be MORE subsidized! I think they should be majority state-funded!

This isn't an argument against any point I've made.

You don't need to dumb it down, you just need to respond to the things I'm actually saying.

Yes, I agree with all of this. I'm not sure why you wrote this.

You said repeatedly you don't feel sorry for the farmers because 77% voted for trump. You say it in THIS message.

At least read your OWN messages, if you're not going to read mine.

"Why do you think farmers should be subsidized but not others who work their asses off?"

I don't think that! Again, where did I say that?

And again, 23% of farmers shouldn't suffer because OTHER farmers voted poorly.

And AGAIN, right to repair AFFECTS US ALL.

Are you even reading what I write?

Where did I call for you to have empathy? Did you even read my comment?

I'm speaking about facts not being nicey-nice to people.

Factually, farmer does not mean Trumper.

Factually, right to repair affects us all.

Factually, people should not lose rights because other people voted badly.

It sounds like you understand then that farmers as a class didn't vote to have people trafficked or kidnapped.

And even if every single farmer in the USA were a Trumper, right to repair affects everyone.

People shouldn't lose their rights because other people with the same job voted badly.

I understand that you feel frustration, but being angry at farmers is the kind of working class division that benefits those in power.

FACTORY farming is a horrible and exploitative practice, but the farmers who will benefit from right to repair are working people.

Farmers are not a politically homogeneous group.

Agriculture subsidies are the reason you have food, they're a good thing.

Right to repair is a philosophy that applies to our phones, our cars, our computers...

Elected officials routinely work toward multiple goals at once.

I also fully respect anyone's right to use it for themselves or for other people who like it. I just don't like it.

I also understand that another word, which I DO like, and use all the time, is a word that many people don't like. I like it because I have CHOSEN to reclaim it.

My problem with queer is that we are EXPECTED to reclaim it. What makes reclamation powerful, I believe, is that it is a choice to take a word and own it.

We are called queer and told to be okay with it. It's not empowering because we don't have the power to choose it or not.

I saw a bunch of Joystick people saying their X accounts got banned shortly after posting links to their stream, and Jonah Wheeler made a post about it, too.

I know a lot of adult entertainers worked REALLY hard on building their audience, and it sucks to see their efforts collapse like this.

Honestly a hotel spa also sounds lovely! If we do Italy next year, I'll try and find a hotel with a spa!

Good to know! Maybe next time I'll tell the travel agent to specifically look for locations that have something!

This will be my first trip to Europe so I suppose it's bound to be a learning experience in some regards.

Do European hotels as a rule not have gyms in them? In the states nearly every hotel I've stayed in has at least a little "fitness room" with a treadmill, an elliptical, and some weights, but NONE of the hotels for our Europe trip list a fitness facility among the amenities...

I disagree. The quote draws attention, in plain terms, to the mechanism of conservative injustice.

Your statement is more condemnatory, but does not address how or why the injustice occurs.

To fight injustice, we must understand specifically what is wrong and why.
