Man, you ever think how lucky we are to have BOOKS? And how no matter how fast we read or how long we live, we will never run out of fantastic books to read? What a life

Realizing that maybe that came off as criticism 😅

To be clear, I highly recommend reading to understand the full picture of what the economy of the future could look like and what "Degrowth" means. #booksky

For me, this book didn't feel particularly revelatory because it's just common sense. Infinite growth is impossible on a finite planet, and measuring economic stability with a single metric (GDP) completely flattens and obstructs reality. @matthiasschmelzer.bsky.social @avansi.bsky.social #climate

If you want to ruin your day, might I recommend Abandon Me by Melissa Febos? An incredible memoir showing how the fear of being abandoned — by a parent, by a lover — can lead us to abandon ourselves. #booksky #books #reading #memoir

In On Tyranny, Snyder recommends that kids should read... Harry Potter!

There is so much dystopian YA fiction where characters overthrow tyranny. Maybe don't choose the one where the solution is: "everything stays the same but now the good guys are in charge! btw slavery still exists!" #booksky

Baby's first day trying audiobooks!

Tbh was disappointed by On Tyranny. I found it too surface level (I'm prob not the target), and some of the arguments were lacking (See below).

Between The World and Me, however, is incredible. Wonderful prose and insight. Great listen.

Vantage Points by Chase Joynt. A surprising read on transmasculine identity and how it relates to childhood sexual abuse. Another perspective (or vantage point?) to add to my own quest to understand what role trauma plays in developing queer identities. #books #booksky #reading #lgbtq #trans #queer

A photo shows people dancing. One is labelled "Supply chain shortages"; others bear the names "Another Variant," "The Collapse of Civilization," "Satanic Rituals" and "The Metaverse." At the center is a young woman dancing rather blissfully. She is labelled, "Me, just trying to write my little stories."
